Always funny watching the experts on this board trying to justify the stock price and why it’s going to rocket in the next 6 months.

Should have listened to me fellas, JD posted a great opportunity to buy last week down at 116. Now at 125 with a news update this morning. Such a safe bet and easy to swing trade it.

2 questions I have here-

1. Why do you think you know more than profession investors who are shorting this heavily?

2. Why will cash flow improve when a huge chunk of the last update was because of huge sell off of the old over bought stock. It was a one off, which did help the numbers but won’t be repeated again. I don’t know how the board are planning to re pay off the huge amount of debt going forward?

Only thing you can hope for is interest rates reduced soon which may help slightly. But honestly you think 0.25pc reduction is going to make everyone spend money like crazy? Will free up small amounts of cash for people but nothing major. Short term it may see a bounce when they do drop until the results are posted.

Said it before and I’ll say it again, JD easiest 40-50!percent you’ll ever make. Told you all that you should have sold this at 380ish.

Let’s not forget stocks can go down too. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this in the 370s. I got stopped out yesterday, we’ve been hitting lower lows for last 6 days now. Still a good long term hold though, I’ll buy more if we do get to 377, it seems unlikely but I wouldn’t be surprised with the uk markets.

Blabla- agreed, the markets can be very manipulated at times, and I think asos is a perfect example of that. We can only go off our knowledge and past experiences to try and gain and edge on the market. The most useful book I have read is probably the smallest and most simple out of them all. Anyway the real key to been successful is to manage risks, and on that note, i do agree there is hopefully little downside here. I respect your credentials, fair play if you have made that, certainly more than I’ve made. Not a de ramper, quite the opposite I just hate to see people waste time and money, I was in their position once and sat in stocks at a loss for months and months, hoping for a bounce and nothing happened. I’d suggest you chaps read some investing books on and I’ll get dictionary how does that sound? Least I can recognise and accept my weaknesses unlike you clowns. Only a fool does the same thing and expects different results. Like a broken record you lot!

Haha jamesss, maybe if you were as good at spelling as picking stocks you wouldn’t be drowning here. Maybe get some armbands mate to keep you afloat. My punctuality maybe not be exceptional but I know when I see a good stock and when I see a pos unlike you!

Blabla- genuinely just don’t like to see people losing money. The share I mentioned yesterday is up another 14 percent today. I set my stops at strong resistance levels so I’m never going to be selling for a loss. I’ve be e stung by a few stocks in the past and always learnt it’s best to cut a looser and possibly miss the bounce back than to keep watching it drop. Wish you the best of here though.

Guys, those who saw me post last week when I got abused and called out. What did I say about this and jd sports?? Follow the winners not the losers. This stock is dead and the faster you realise that the better. When it shoots back upto 380, take a loss and move on. You can easily get that money back within 6 months if your 40-50 percent down. Gold is soaring (in in Mtl deep) mining stock up 60 percent in 6 months, JD is still a good buy, card is also looking like more upside vs downside and rolls Royce will probably get to 700p within a couple of years. I’ll say it again, this stock is dead, only good for a quick trade when there’s good levels of volume. The next results will be dire hence the less than descriptive rns we just had. Forgot this pile of crap, ASOS has had its day, get out and stop loosing your money and time on this

Certainly looks promising for MTL with DB at the reigns. Think I’ll add some more next week. That’s an interesting link regarding the mining in Philippine, appears to be so much un tapped potential, is it likely we will see big players coming into the area?

It’s wonderrful watching this rise, only been in short term but already up over 50 percent.

Does anyone have a target for the sp? Just off charts it seems like around 8 could be a sticking point? Although maybe looking at the charts is worthless as MTL is in a totally different place and position then it was back then.

I’m here for the long term just curious what you more experienced MTL holders are thinking

Jamesss. Agreed fella, a takeover bid or any other positive news would be welcomed from the share holders and have a nice boost, deffo Needs some decent news and momentum to get a consistent rise

All or nothing, I will be leaving shortly as there’s only a limited number on people of this sub who are adults and can have a conversation with. Not perfect, never said I was, I’ve been in our and of rolls a couple of times but managed to make about 25k over the lady 3 years.

Difference is I set stops, as I did with jd at 165, thankfully it dropped which presented me with a great opportunity.

GLA and follow winners not losers. Even if you went into rolls Royce 6 months ago you’d be 194 percent up compared to 47 down. Bet your portfolio looks excellent

I sold up at 380 yesterday and quickly back entered at 364, sold again in the afternoon for 383 again. I’ve always been in asos mainly with the play money. It’s so volatile as soon as I hit my target usually around 7 percent I sell out.

I agree about every dog has it’s day. I’ve been in rolls from 90 p when it was a dog, still hold a fair chunk now! I love a good turn around stock but not sure if this is the one

LWHL said yesterday about not seeing enough from The updated to make him invest, which was exactly what I thought too. I might keep playing with a bit here and there if I see an opportunity as the bottom of the range and look to hold for a day or 2 but I’m not investing here for any longer. Might provide some nice swings now we have some volume.

The shorts haven’t reduced either which always makes me a bit nervous and will hold it back until they close

See this is the thing, JD looks similar on paper to ASOS, they both do the same thing right? They do and they do. Difference is, JD targets a younger audience who are crazy for brand snobbery and buying the latest gear. Look at all the teenagers in mike air max worth 150, north face jackets, nike joggers all very expensive. Yes asos sell these items but not the same models, and it’s a fine line. To an out wider these trainers are the same as asos, but they are not and that matters to kids who want to look cool.

I’m not a de ramper, I’ve been in asos in and out for last 2 years, and I hope the market takes this update kindly! Yes it’s not the worse, which is why I can’t see the SP dropping, but I can’t see a huge rise in the near future too. All yoi need to do is look at the last 10 years for asos, always said this one’s great for a quick swing trade, terrible for LTH

I understand about making a profit however share holders and future investors naturally want to see revenues increasing yoy. How will the buisness grow if revenues are declining? Yes brilliant that they have streamline and making more money however there’s only so many times you can do that until, it gets to a point you can’t cut any more costs there the profits will be stale. It’s all well and good charging more for a t shirt but this industry is cut throat, personally I’m off over to jd, appeals to a bigger demographic and plans to make it a global business is good enough for me

In all honestly it’s not the update we was hoping for. Yes fcf has improved and the buisness streamlined, but there’s not much else to write about. A huge decline in revenues will worry folk and rightly so. Will they ever claw them customers back in. This is partly due to the economic climate but also due to firm competition. Be interesting to see how the SP reacts but I wouldn’t be surprised to see still under the 350s. Hope I’m wrong as I’ve still a holding here.

I’m rooting for asos but some of you guys are deluded. If we get good results, and it’s unlikely, we’ll probably see a spike upto 400s again, but guaranteed we’ll struggle to surpass the 440 mark. It’s been a resistant point for so long now, I think the markets lost confidence in asos, it’ll never been seen in as it was in its hay day. Also, we’ve some serious competition from the likes of vinted, SHEIN etc what we never had before. I’m still in this at an average off 350, but fortunately sold 80 percent of my holding on the recent spike back to 355. If it drops to 320s I’ll take another position as I don’t think there’s much more to fall from there, and the upside does present more gain than the lower loss. I’m only in this for a quick trade, no point in sticking around here too long you’ll never see any decent momentum to really lth. Good luck everyone think we’ll need it

Crazy swing here today. What’s with the rise and the sudden drop? With posting better than expected I would hope to be back in the 200s again? The sentiment was low before so surely we can push into the 200s again after these results no?

What a lovely day to be holding stocks, 2 of my biggest holding rr and Mtl up at an average of 11 percent. Looking forward to the next coming months. And also thank you to the knowledgeable chaps on here for their insight as always, mainly you lee! Stockoped highly rates Mtl (how I discovered it in the first place) hopefully we get more new investors in the near future when people start to realise the potential. Onwards and upwards!
