To qualify for a dividend I just need to have a holding the date the dividend is announced , and let’s say the news is released at 7 am to say they are proposing a div of £2 I am guessing we have to agree that amount before there is an ex div date posted . If the sp rose to £1 tomorrow on the news and you sold your holding are you still entitled to the proposed div.
