Interpreters stranded: Home Secretary Priti Patel is in serious trouble this morning over the plight of Afghan interpreters who helped British forces and have now had their asylum applications rejected by the Home Office. The Times’ Manveen Rana and Larisa Brown tell the story of Ahmadzai, who had his permission to come to the U.K. revoked last week. Now he’s in hiding after the Taliban raided his home in Kabul. It is hard to exaggerate the strength of feeling among Tory MPs over Afghan interpreters being denied the right to come to Britain by the Home Office. You can imagine Patel could find herself in an extremely difficult position over the coming days.
