Drivers are mostly middle aged. The hours are long and increasingly unloading delays add to this.Their is little to attract the young who would rather spend more time with their mates
or with their young families than on the road.
The pay is awful and everybody on the road HATES them.
Unsurprising it's unappealing to Brits.
