The number of infections from COVID-19 registered on a daily basis in the United Kingdom reached a new record of 189,213 on Thursday. It is the third day in a row Britain has hit the mark. The nation now counts a total of 12,748,050 cases observed since the start of the pandemic.
The figure for deaths linked to coronavirus noted in the previous 24 hours almost doubled in comparison to the day before, coming in at 332. Those took the overall tally of fatalities connected to the virus to 148,421.
In the meantime, the number of people that received the first dose of a vaccine against COVID-19 rose to 51,738,013, and of those that got the second shot too to 47,368,074. Moreover, 33,527,184 were given the third or booster dose.
