The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued on Friday an arrest warrant against Russian President Vladimir Putin, alleging he is responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of children from Russia-occupied Ukrainian regions.
"The crimes were allegedly committed in Ukrainian-occupied territory at least from 24 February 2022. There are reasonable grounds to believe that Mr. Putin bears individual criminal responsibility for the aforementioned crimes, for having committed the acts directly, jointly with others and/or through others, and for his failure to exercise control properly over civilian and military subordinates who committed the acts, or allowed for their commission, and who were under his effective authority and control, pursuant to superior responsibility," the ICC's report noted.
The ICC also issued an arrest warrant against Maria Lvova-Belova, Russian presidential commissioner for children's rights, linking her to the same war crime.

The latest projections from the OECD did little to boost the mood, meanwhile, as it said the UK will be the only industrialised country other than Russia to shrink this year.

It expects the UK economy to contract by 0.2%. This is better than its previous forecast for a 0.4% contraction but still leaves the UK at the bottom of the G7 league table.

Not only that but the minimum allowance for tapered pensions has been increased from £4,000 to £10,000, which is worth a tax relief of an estimated £2,700 for high earners.

This is also looking likely to be a big inheritance tax loophole. Money saved in a pension is free of the 40% inheritance tax and there has been no adjustment for this in light of the removal of the maximum amount that can be saved in a pension.

CSGN.S soared by at least 30% in premarket trading on Thursday
after the company secured a $54 billion lifeline from the Swiss
National Bank to shore up liquidity and investor confidence that
sent its stock to record lows the day before.

JPMorgan analysts said the loan from the SNB would not be
enough to soothe investor concerns and "status quo was no longer
an option", leaving a takeover for Credit Suisse as the most
likely outcome.

Credit Suisse shares were indicated at 2.18 Swiss francs
($2.16), up 26% from Wednesday's close. The stock fell by as
much as 30% the previous day after Credit Suisse's largest
backer said it could not offer any more financial assistance for
regulatory reasons.
