This is not a prediction

It’s just one possible outcome based on using numbers.

But I do like it.

We look out to 2030 which is only just over 6 1/2 years away.

It’s the timescale for their current plan.

If div only increases by 10% per year till then.( based mainly on share reduction)

By 2030 div would be over 35 p ever year.

Obviously we all hope for even more than that as an increase.

If you assume sp and yield are still giving 4% then sp by then would be just under £9.

Then 3 years later in 2033 the oil spill payments stop and that releases another $1 billion to spend on us.

Non of the above relies on oil price being ultra high,or includes revenues from renewables or even the huge sum they expect to take from the commercial side of things ( which has just got much bigger).

Nor does it include anything from Rosneft.

It’s really only from business as usual.

As ever it’s hard to disagree with your assessment.

Think the last 2 lines are now what it’s all about.

Yield.

Slowly div is being increased ( mainly on the back of the share reduction).

Think that’s maybe what will finally be the catalyst.One day.

There maybe better places to put your money, but BP is probably in better financial health than ever, and $75 oil this time still makes big profits.

I was so sure we were only waiting for the last set of results to start the next major leap in .

The results were nothing like bad ( in fact they were rather good).

Now starting to think it’s something unexpected that will eventually be the catalyst.

Meanwhile BP continues to make lots of cash and position itself for the future, including by continuing to improve its finances.

At this exact moment it’s actually a good thing we are not doing as much buybacks, because in reality it’s because we are investing more in the future.

Saw this a couple of days ago, but it’s only today I actually saw how big it is in. $$$ terms.

It’s a lot to spend on IT, but they do say it’s been worth it offshore.

So hopefully this is the next big positive in BP business going forward

We take it all for granted until something is not quite right, then we get grumpy.

Not aimed a you Tinker.

My thoughts are

Someone wanted to pay more for them, so they can’t be that far off value.

They learned with Thorntons what works ,so suspect some of it will be recreated with Travelcenters.

It gives them sites with room to do things .

They have had time to plan what they want to do with them.

I suspect that in 18 months those sites will be majorly changed.

They believe Retail can bring in $10 billion in profit,( I think by 2030).

They can always sell off any that don’t fit their plans.

It’s not a new plan, they have been heading this way for years.

It’s said they make more profit from non fuel purchases.

I’m prepared to give them time to prove they did get this right.

We wait and watch.

The Brazilian oil sector grapevine is signalling that Petrobras has found another big pre-salt field in the country, this time with BP as partner

Petra as is planning to drill 2 wells in the ultra deep water section of the Campos basin

The discovery was drilled in 1st quarter 2022.

I’m blaming you for the sp going down

No more going away ,we can’t afford to go back to the £4s again.

Seriously think it’s just time for fear to have the upper hand again.

So oil price a bit soft, and sp reacting.

Oil price very volatile,if you look on oilprice.com like me you get a headline saying oil price down because of ( whatever current reason is) but actual oil price has already turned positive.

Or you get the exact opposite headline say oil price up, but actual oil price has already turned down.

They actually think the volatility will get even worse.

So roll on BP trading profits

WP I’m assuming there might be not quite a shortage of chargers ,but with the plans going forward, maybe a need to rationalise where what we have are best placed.

So maybe more electrons to be charged for in a hub used 20 times in 24 hrs compared to one charge per day at home.

But that’s purely guessing on my part.
