Oil exports through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline via Georgia and Turkey were up by 1.8% year-on-year in the first 11 months of this year at 27.6 million metric tons, Azerbaijan’s state statistics committee said.

The BTC is used to export oil from the Azeri, Chirag and Guneshli oilfields, operated by BP BP.L.

Azerbaijan’s total oil exports in January-November 2023 were 36.4 million tons, of which 75.9% flowed through the BTC.

The volume of transit oil from other countries such as Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan through the BTC increased to 4.8 million metric tons in Jan-November 2023, from 4.7 million tons a year earlier.

I suspect if it’s someone from outside it will be a big surprise whoever it is.

It would have not taken so long to confirm an obvious target.

And the longer it goes on the harder it becomes not to just confirm the acting CEO.

I firmly agree the Chairman’s position is due a change.

We really need a firm Chairman who is visible and asks the questions no one seems to have asked.

I’m not sure all the board need to go, but leadership,values,ethics, etc all must come from the top

Personally don’t understand why people feel threatened.

If you are good enough you get the job.

If you don’t get it and you deserve it you move on.

I would be more worried from a business point.

If she had said we use the old boys network of which School tie do you wear ,as that’s always how it’s been.

Some of my best and worst bosses have been female,but that’s coincidence , as I could also say the same about white males.

Never worked under a person of colour,purely due to them being very underrepresented during my working career.

I got interrupted during my post.

Was just going to add, that when the BP share scheme first started,there were people who did not join as they were sure there was some catch.

There were times in the early days when we could not afford to take full advantage.

We were lucky some of the older people could advise on things like shares, and mortgages,as usually you only learn by making mistakes.

It was amazing how much the employees knew about div dates ,div, ex div etc, they were all experts.

Although obviously the share scheme was a good perk,its main benefit personally speaking was exposure to share ownership at a fairly young age( below 25), when you are not thinking about stuff like that ( or understanding it).

This was before any of the privatisations so set me up to benefit from them also.

But as they say it’s time in the market that counts.

My average is well under £2, and that includes a lot of buy and sells in the £4-£5 range.

Agreed, but silly people periodically attack the award of shares to the very people earning them their dividend payments.

They appear unable to differentiate between Executive Share scheme, worth millions, and employees who may get £1-2,000, and never just totally free.

Employees do not ever wade through buckets of shares.( never mind free shares)

That must be the stupidest post you have ever made.

The top people will get silly rewards.

Normal employees have to match and save and various other things.

These are an incentive,and if not given would just result in a higher salary,which would reflect in overtime pension payments.

It’s the modern way to get employee buy in.

Might some of the rise in number of shares being awarded,not be due to the very low sp in some of this period.

ie if you get £1000 worth of shares that money buys more shares,or am I being to simplistic.

Been in here forever

So seen it done it.

Even down to CEO lying to board ( J Browne).

The bad times never last forever( just seems that way).

Despite anything the board do BP continues to make cash.

Out of favour shares, can become a favourite again sometimes for no apparent reason.

We have several helpers including a new CEO and possible change in strategy.

I admit there have been easier times to be optimistic, and we are no- where near where I expected a year ago(£5.78).

This morning all 10 shares I own were up, and I thought we had a Santa rally,it didn’t even last till lunch time, and 3 were down.

And sp will be at least £1 higher.( hopefully even more)

There is lots of potential we just need to get our hands on it.

I would say when searching for BP news,have never seen so many headlines focus on one thing.

The press are loving it.

Particularly the ones who report it in dollars as that appears an even bigger number.

With several of his share options not being vested,that’s a few less shares being awarded this year,so slight effect on buybacks needed to balance( but not even one days worth)

They used to talk about the January effect.

Which was new money coming in , in the new year.

So resume buybacks, January effect, new CEO, and OPEC to start bossing the oil market.

Then just maybe we can look back and see the bottom
