I got in at over 30 and have averaged down over time to 7 at a considerable cost, showing over 85% loss at present, so I feel a bit stuck in

Irish planning laws and applications are notoriously difficult and interminable
Proposed Open cast mining in 2 different jurisdictions - Northern Ireland and the Republic - presents further long delays bearing in mind that European Union rules also apply to the South

Is Optima an existing shareholder? The subscription will get it a 20% holding in the Company
Good to see that the subscription price is at a premium to the share price; they are usually issued at a discount to the existing price.
We have had an experience before with a shady sheik, so hopefully this investor from the UAE will be more long term and will bring some financial discipline

As far as I know, no application has been made to operate a mine in Ireland by Conroy. If gold is proven to be of commercial value for mining, there will be years of negotiating planning permissions without any guarantee of success

Whatever has happened to Drewky. As far as I recall he was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable contributor who also invested considerable amounts of money

My view is that we have a proven asset which needs further development, and therefore either money or a co partner.
If a major, like Shell, wants to get in on the ground floor in its proposed diversication out of fossil fuel, I would think that we could be a suitable candidate
