Success in storage DEEP. Underground Engineering GmbH was established in 1995 in Bad Zwischenahn, Germany. The company operates as a key partner in the planning and construction of underground salt caverns for oil and gas storage, and it has contributed to a number of projects across the country. Having started with just five personnel, the company’s workforce has since expanded to more than 110 employees. Together, DEEP. and KBB UT currently employ a staff of 170 in Bad Zwischenahn, Hannover and at other site locations throughout Europe. Every year the two organisations drill 20-30 wells totalling between 30,000 and 40,000 drill metres, and solution mines between 5-7 million cubic metres underground space. The two companies continue to be involved in major projects, such as Etzel, Nüttermoor and Jemgum. International orders include gas storage projects in Zuidwending, in the Netherlands and Carriço, in Portugal. .................................................................................................................... Sounds very promising indeed they've obviously chosen these contractor's as they mean business with regard to moving Infa forward through to construction and commercialisation! This must be one of the best news announcements to land here for the past few years! Anyone's guess now as to where the SP will head to.....even if it spikes I expect it to stay above the 0.5p mark from this point on :))))

We must not forget Infa would not be where it is without your timely and bold intervention last year when overthrowing the old bod. InfraStrata plc ("InfraStrata" or the "Company") Contract signed with DEEP.KBB Gmbh to carry out the subsurface element of the FEED for the Islandmagee gas storage project The Board of InfraStrata plc (AIM: INFA), the UK quoted company focused on gas storage, is pleased to announce that the Company has entered into a contract with DEEP.KBB Gmbh ("DEEP") to carry out the subsurface element of the Front End Engineering and Design (the "FEED") for the Islandmagee gas storage project (the "Project"). Work by DEEP is to start imminently and will enable InfraStrata to carry out the subsurface element of the FEED programme this year and within the rules and timescales of the EU funding grant. Costain has already been appointed to carry out the surface element of the FEED programme, as announced on 23 April 2018, and their work is underway. Adrian Pocock, Chief Executive of InfraStrata, commented: "We are delighted to confirm that we have now signed the other key contract for the FEED programme with DEEP, which is a highly-regarded expert in the development of salt cavern storage facilities. The Company is now moving forward to complete the FEED this year and continues negotiations and discussions with third parties in respect of construction and commercialisation of this significant infrastructure project. Further updates are expected to be announced over the course of this year as the FEED and work on the Project progresses."

Beijing is trying to switch more of its energy use to gas from coal to help clear up the foul air in the country’s north through a gasification push. Global gas inventory levels heading into the summer are below the seasonal average just as stocks of competing fuels, oil and coal, dive to multi-year lows, boosting gas prices, the analysts said. Gas inventory across the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development may be 650 billion cubic feet (bcf) below average, equivalent to a shortfall of 4.3 days of demand. The deficit in March-April was particularly acute in Europe where utilities increased imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and pipeline gas to rebuild inventory, they said. As coal plants retire and the share of natural gas in the fuel mix grows, the scope for fuel switching in response to price change may become limited in some markets such as the United Kingdom where utilities have less flexibility, which could increase the appeal of gas as an investment, they said.

Just to reiterate here L&G that is Legal and General who were on 31.9M till recently appear to have substantially added to stay above the 5% mark!! Roughly 15M by my estimate that a big institutional investor has added BIG vote of confidence in my book!!

The RNS's over last few month's certainly provide very positive language re discussions with major gas players, lender's, possible anchor tenants and financing of construction of project etc. It's all there in black and white and another positive was the recent interview on lse of AP himself. 3 really positive thing's came out - reminder of the govt guarantee scheme Infa qualifies for - the fact they are confident of securing funding - the fact the project by the end of the year may be pre let or even pre sold! Either outcome would be very very positive for shareholders.....

Have minimum storage requirements imposed at EU level made a difference to supply security? Probably but they haven’t been tested out yet. If we had another 2009 situation with Russian gas – and it really is only Russian gas we’re talking about – would Europe do better? I would say absolutely yes.
