I agree Coggy that Vinny may have a wacky sense of humour but he has a tendency to go too far imo given the frequency of the posts and the content of them along with the fact they provide no actual meaningful contribution to FRR

I was thinking along the same lines bladey re the closing SP....a large order filling seems plausible we'll soon find out if we're way off the mark or not

Dev - good article. It's no accident why not just 1 but 2 major companies are sniffing around FRR and clearly have been for some time. If the interest by one or more of the major's was just a flash in the pan from the early days of the site survey's and meetings a while ago then we may never even got to hear about it. The fact that they have announced this only now tells me that the major's are serious and will be unlikely to walk away from FRR bearing in mind the huge quantities of oil and gas at stake here. The major's will have known for some time the potential of block 12 however something has obviously changed recently to make them suddenly take notice here. The flow rates from the 3 drilled wells are quite clearly good or very good otherwise the major's wouldn't bother wasting their time and that of FRR.

Rainbow - I agree there I really don't think we'll have much of a wait before we learn more detail about who the major's are and the extent of their involvement here

I'm 99.9% certain Exxon have seen all the ud2 and gas data that FRR have.

Exxon bought out XTO for approx 41billion with 10billion worth of debt.

I wonder what kind of deal FRR may get from the two Majors?

You mention BPC, correct me if I'm wrong but all BPC had was offshore 2d/3d seismic? Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't Schumberger, Exxon, Repsol and the Chinese all started sniffing around Georgia? Don't see any major oil companies drilling in the Bahamas do you? Comparing BPC to FRR is a bit odd.

Anyway, just a view.

Madpunter that's some serious valuation for block 12....not sure whether a buyout would ever occur with not knowing the intentions of the interested major's but anything's possible here. Either way even if we just settled with a farmout or jv we're still looking at a substantial re-rate from current levels. Given the sheer scale of the gas and oil at stake here I find it very very unlikely that the major's will walk away from here especially given how long it appears they've been lurking behind the scenes.

ffs I really hope there isn't anything to read into this? we need something decent from the bod and soon not holding my breath though

Fingers crossed Avi8r ..... hopefully we're not putting 2+2 together and getting 5 here but that's certainly the conclusion I reach regarding Exxon being one of the major's in the equation

Now they have given up on various Russian projects it would make sense that Exxon's interest could be here...

I'm hedging my bets on the 2 majors having been involved behind the scenes with Frontera from a data collection and analysis point of view since before the arbitration was confirmed way back in April with the RNS saying "Whilst these discussions are at an early stage, they have taken a significant step forward with both interested parties having attended extended site surveys and management meetings". I think the arbitration (a bit of a non issue) only came about because of the majors sniffing around and finally whoever is involved (Exxon, Repsol, Socar or even BP) gave permission last week for the detail in the RNS to be released. We won't have long to wait at all for further material news imo. Now this is out in the public domain I don't think the majors will waste anytime in striking a deal with FRR before anyone else starts sniffing around. Unless of course an 'exclusivity agreement' were to be announced in the mean time.
If we get confirmation that one of the majors is Exxon this would likely fly to the 2p mark. The flow rates are likely to turn out better than what many predicted....the majors will have seen the results and like what they see. Even Zaza mentions the word 'commercial' in mon's RNS..... "all currently drilled three wells have demonstrated commercial oil deliverability from Zones 14 and 15 of the Eldari A and Zone 19 of the Eldari B formations."
No one ever doubted the HUGE reserves of oil and gas down there but obviously the geology of the area and the previously 35yr old drilled soviet wells with primitive technology back then have not helped but I do believe that they have finally cracked the code with regards to commercial well deliverability of all zones.

Reminder of key points highlighted by WHIreland in Frontera this week .......

"each additional potential zone Frontera is testing has highly material capacity to “flick the switch” and establish the commercial viability of the Taribani oilfield in terms of its ability to attract capital."

"the moment of truth for Frontera after decades of investment would occur in 2018 and 2019; "

"we are not surprised that Frontera is one of very few oil companies listed on AIM that has entered discussions with two major oil companies, because the potential of its assets is consistent with what a globally leading oil company would look for to generate meaningful growth, in our opinion."

"In respect of its ongoing testing, Frontera indicated that at this stage the company has continued to see consistent oil and gas delivery from relevant wells"

"We believe that having two major companies assessing Frontera’s assets (via formal NDA and data exchange agreements) represents a step-change for Frontera. We anticipate a positive share price reaction to this development.
Our estimate of the fair value of Frontera remains under review pending the ongoing well tests."

Imo their estimate of fair value of Frontera (0.82p a share) in light of recent developments will end up being substantially increased

I'll keep it quick. It only takes that one time to "pull it out of the bag" and there's only one black swan event.

Ill give you two reasons why friend.

1) Any other AIM company would have folded by now and did...Thethys, Blake oil, Can Argo, Range etc yet Frontera kept going with Directors heavily investing. Why? Because they had belief in what they were doing and they knew the potential, they knew.

2) Big oil has now entered the picture...Exxon, Repsol, Schumberger and the Chinese. There all in Georgia for the huge potential that lays under the soil. I think Big oil believes the hydrocarbon basins are giants in Georgia and greatly surpass those in Azerbaijan. The basins in Georgia were just a little bit more difficult to get at due to all that tectonic activity millions of years ago. However, with the modernisation of drilling those once difficult unconventional fields are now conventional.

No need to wait 5-10 years to see this come good. All the work and pain has been done. This will come reet very soon.

Not really in fact the market was very impressed....rising 80% on one day and still finishing up nearly 60% by close on Fri. Stale bulls likely sold on the huge rise after months of SP erosion and who could blame them? Despite this plenty of interest and further rises very likely next week. Were you after a 500% rise this week trader? As further details emerge this could indeed re-rate by another 500% over the next few months if the news regarding the 2 major players lives up to expectations
