Without wanting to sound a pedant as well - you are incorrect when you suggest that calling someone an "idiot" is actionable as libel (or even slander or defamation). Calling someone an idiot, or wrong is covered by "opinion". Is you were to incorrectly call someone a thief , or a liar, etc that would be defamation (either libel or slander). Just to repeat.... calling someone an idiot is not actionable.... happy to help. Mayt

You suggest that giving up Crimea, and the other 2 enclaves taken by the Russians is a “small price to pay”. Do you really think if the Ukrainians now surrendered on those terms that Putin could be trusted to withdraw his forces from the rest of the country?? I wonder how many people advocating a similar capitulation would have reacted in 1941 if Hitler had captured parts if the UK - oh those siren voices of appeasement. I often find "sweeping generalisations" about a particular country or race jarring. Oversimplification of any topic or subject is generally a sign of lack of depth, and flexibility in a person's thinking - and should serve as a warning.
Avoiding the extremes in any situation is surely the sensible, and grown up place to be. Recognise the extremes on either side, and give them a swerve........ volume is not the same as substance...Mayt

Actually CTC1988 you do not understand what HMRC Investigatory Powers are. Posters here are "anonymous" to other viewers, but identity details are held by LSE, and a simple request from HMRC to LSE to provide details of members who had posted on EUA board would not be turned down. Normally HMRC would not be bothered, but in the event of a multi billion pound sale - you bet they would.
So simple message is there is no such thing as an anonymous posting.... and if you rub people up the wrong way, they will dob you in. mayt..

Like you, and others, I really have missed being able to view the Posting History. I think after a while on these boards you get an instinct on who the "dodgy", or just plain daft posters are, but without the posting histories it takes longer to confirm suspicions - or otherwise.
To be honest I find the absence of the LSE Posting History more personally frustrating than the wait for final news on our deal - now that is an admission. At least I can understand, or at least rationalise, why we have the extended EUA wait... but not why LSE can't sort this (other than the obvious competence question).
I am relieved that unlike yourself, and others, I am not a Premium subscriber. Mayt46

H2 Transition Capital. I remember having a look at H2 Transition Capital when they were mentioned as attending the Moscow Conference last month (in the event EUA board didnt attend).
