If Total are acquiring oil blocks offshore Guyana, does this imply that they wont acquire ECO's? If they don't im sure we will have plenty of other majors taking an interest

I don�t agree dunderhead, we all know the reason why there hasn�t been previous farm in - short memories with price of oil crashing, drilling vastly reduced offshore and investment being curtailed. That�s now changed hence the spate of recent farm ins, in numerous high impact areas like Morocco, Guyana, Namibia, Mexico and Brazil. Plus super majors are now taking more than an interest, they want in. Why is that? Well everyone knows oil was recovered to the surface a few years ago offshore Namibia. Better seismics, better understanding of the geology, will shall find out soon enough. Either you�re in early and buy cheap now or you can buy cheaper if it�s dust or you�re priced out whilst we all sell out and retire early

So we have the Super majors, Majors & mid tiers taking early positions in Namibia - ExxonMobil, Galp, Tullow - so when are BP going to show their hand

Thanks to jimmy24 on iii Talk by ND over at providence that cairn are the company who have agreed commercial terms to farm into the barryroe oilfield in Ireland. It has 340 million bbls of proven undeveloped independent reported reserves. The deals looks like drilling a well and sidetrack and back costs , cost of Circa $90 million to get 50% of field . Final investment decision to develop field after these wells. Opex on the field is $25 per bbl and only 25% corporation tax . So huge potential value here if indeed cairn are confirmed as the farm in partner who have agreed terms with pvr. Jimmy

Interesting RNS on Rockrose Energy (RRE) - they will be paying a dividend which they intend to be an annual. They will be returning �1.50 per share, however they have way less shares than SQZ. There must be complex discussions going on between all the operators in Namibia - CHAR, ECO, SQZ. Discussions on cost, sharing rigs, which order to drill etc, excerpt from SQZ RNS in 2017 as below: Serica is seeking a partner to drill one or more of the prospects located on the licence and are talking to other operators in the area about potentially joining a wider drilling programme offshore Namibia.
