Russell Index, which is a lead indicator, is down 30% since the all time high...

FAANG index down 40% in 6 months...

NASDAQ down 30%; S&P and Dow down 17/18%

But SOLG UP 18% in the same period...

Bitcoin hit 26,000 today...in fact all cryptos being smashed...

Everything is down...copper just above $4...

But the thing is when private investors overstretch themselves, they sell everything to raise cash...

I have 26 stocks on my Watchlist...all are red...so SOLG doing pretty well...

Thats a good question woody and this is only my personal opinion...

The people looking for ghosts under the bed will rewrite this as presaging a BHP/NCM bid with them having approved the appointment.

Although Darryl stated clearly that the company's plan is to take Alpala to production, he also said they are "open to offers" .
So they are riding two stools while appearing to progress Cascabel.

Her appointment doesn't negate that in any way.

She has the requisite market experience (albeit ASX) and has worked as CFO in seriously credible companies up to twenty times the size of SOLG.

She has direct experience of a £2bn plus IPO, which would have drawn international as well as Oz investors, given its two major mines in Queensland and Colorado.

She also has Treasury and M&A experience.

So she can lead/support:

Cascabel fund raising alongside Ingo

An IPO of one of the subsidiaries

An equity issue

Day to day management of markets/investor relations/roadshows etc.

So my take is...business as usual, working towards Cascabel production and in the meantime an interim equity raise.

New institutional investors in North America

Reassurance of long term investors that a full team is in place and Ingo can focus on the job he was appointed for.

I don't think it in any way interferes with a prospective bid.

Both Darryl and now Ayten will have come on board in what is for them potentially a win win situation.

They may participate in the development of the next major miner or...

They will be beneficiaries of a takeover where either or both could end up running the newly acquired Ecuador division of a major mining company.

I am guessing that options for Darryl have been awaiting Ayten's appointment (and for her also). That news will be very telling, especially as to the pricing.

As I say an IPO for Greenock Resources (which includes Porvenir, Chillanes, Cuisine Loja, Timbara and Sharug) seems propitious...

But an IPO can take months to prepare. The one that I directed took 14 months.

It does have the benefit that SOLG can retain a stake (say 85%); they raise money; it would enhance the SOLG share price; and allows them to focus on Alpala...

I don't care who they are, anyone should be appointed and judged on merit.

Given the state of US markets and despite FTSE Industrial Metals being up 3.6%, SOLG is up 7.8% so the market clearly likes her appointment...on merit...

She doesn't start until June 27.

Surely a fund raise can't wait for her...?

Eventually fund managers and investors will realise that commodities are the only place to be...not equities, not bonds not property...

Libretto....I am also a huge fan of Ingo.

He was performing a very specific role while Priy Jayasuriya was CFO and is reverting to that very specific role.

It has been a major aberration that Solgold has not had a CFO for 18 months.

Now they have a highly competent one with directly relevant experience who led the largest IPO in Oz very recently.

Their roles very definitely complement each other.

SOLG will have to raise 85% of $2.7bn from equity investors, lenders, etc. Ingo had already developed relationships with these people before adding g Interim CFO to his responsibilities.

He will have made some immensely useful contacts and relationships in London, Europe and North America. Ayten brings a strong Oz component to augment that.

For future fundraising and especially the big one if we get that far, Darryl. Ayten and Ingo will be fronting up as a team.

In the meantime, both Ingo and Darryl are developing and augmenting relationships with North American investors.

Ayten has a key role to play in all this, not just keeping the books.
