Lessons Learnt... Hopefully14 May 2018 18:33
Hopefully by now CASP know what is required for deep success...
- Correct drilling equipment, suitable for sub-salt drilling...... Finally got there last year...
- Correct drilling mud mixture for deeps.... A5 sidetrack... Check... finally got there !!!
- Correct Completion... Learnt from A6, need a bigger boooom, Casing is pretty thick at that depth and very high pressure, proved with A5 for open hole completion.
- Correct Perforated liner for deeps... A5, failed, need to ensure gravel pack has similar sized grains as producing reservoir for optimum pressure equalisation and reduction of risk of damage to liner... Hopefully fixed for next go, If production tubing is extracted, also can close off sections of reservoir if problematic with carbonate or sand production...
Looks like CASP put off coiled-tubing for life... Is a shame, maybe provider unsuitable for deeps... Maybe better for shallow works... Did suggest should have gone with Baker Hughes for deep tubing works...
Good luck CASPers
