A8 Well...14 May 2019 22:44
Hey all CASPers
Have been crunching some data from various sources...
A8 drilling is so far going according to plan submitted, have one more casing point to go (7 inch casing), which should be run to approx 50m below end of current oil bearing interval being cored, approx 4500m, will then drill final borehole to TVD of approx 5300m.
Looking at 2D seismic wonder if might find something around 4560-4640m, can't be sure but when correlating A6's wireline logging to CASP siesmic could feed the same interval.

Deep Well A6 was spudded in November 2015, targeting the same structure as Deep Well A5 in the Middle and Lower Carboniferous, and reached a revised Total Depth of 4,528 meters in October 2016.
From the analysis of wireline logging , gross oil-bearing intervals totalling 127 meters have been identified. These are in two intervals, the first of 72 meters between depths of 4,313 meters and 4,385 meters. The second is of 55 meters between depths of 4,450 and 4,505 meters. Further analysis will be conducted to determine the portion of these intervals that are capable of producing commercial volumes of oil ( net pay ).

From May 2019 RNS, A6 are targetting "the deeper most prospective portion of the reservoir; 4479m- 4489m, will be reperforated. Depending upon results we may also reperforate the upper prospective reservoir interval."

Extrapolated to A8... Would be nice to find something around 4600m, when drilling the final part, obviously be even better if get something in the Devonian too :-)

Be happy to get MJF license for the time being !!!
Cheers all
