Isn’t it amazing how no one was prepared to back Burford three months ago - it’s pathetic how very few people have the courage of their convictions .
Burford is a long term hold for me and I expect the SP to double within 12 months - as long as the USA market holds up despite 40 million unemployed and who knows what stupidity Trump will do before November.
TB - like you I have total confidence in the future of Burford ( be even better when the present chairman retires and freebie
holidays are a thing of the past ). This is a share with no real ties to the UK and the real energy comes via the USA - so U.K. investors ,many having been hit by the share drop, have little enthusiasm. But once on Nasdaq this share will always do well .
Just look at their excellent communication skills via an excellent website -
Above all look at the PER.
Finally with ThomasBrowne as cheerleader what more could you want .
Buy Gold. Buy Oil. But much much better buy the brains of intelligent lawyers .
TB - I think ‘ consistency ‘ might be your name - I see over the past thirty days you have posted 130 posts re Burford . I have to congratulate you since this LSE forum was moreorless moribund before your arrival . Your optimism will be justified and I hope that Mr Bogart will give you a medal for your fidelity and predictions - by the way do you have any
investment background or are you a self taught amateur ?
Over the past year I have lost considerably in Burford and yet I am perfectly happy to keep faith in this company- Like a boxer taking punches we will hit the final knockout blow when we get quoted on NASDAQ and get away from this squeamish U.K. market - clearly the Brits
have no confidence in the management and many have sadly lost on the way down thanks to MW-
Thomas Browne - this LSE forum has been so uninspiring since 12 months with no one having the guts to counter the Muddy Waters saga - and state what a superb share this will prove to be. But now you have arrived - Bravo!!
I still wait for a kind soul to try and explain to me the reason behind our PER of 3 against the PER 39 for litigation quoted MANOLETE - what do they offer versus Burford . Is our business model so risky to justify the enormous gap ?
After two years suffering with Amerisur Resources I am happy to reinvest with Tullow. Happy because I am convinced that the new CEO is the perfect leader at this challenging moment in time . He led Cairn India to great success and has both the mining and banking background to steer us to success .
One of the sad aspects of many forums is the constant griping against the management whose primary business is to make profits and not to pander to the anxiety of retail shareholders . I sympathize with anyone desperate for immediate cash but in reality any company should be judged over time. I like many have lost money on Burford but I remain 100% sure that over the next five years there will be very few FTSE shares who will show a better performance in terms of SP.
Where can you find a PER at under 3 ?
So please forget their communication strategy and judge them on their results .
Thoughts for today prior to investing in Centamin:
“ All that is gold does not glitter
Not all those who wander are lost
From the ashes a fire shall be woken
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king “
Nevertheless confident that Centamin will glitter for us all this week
As a new boy to Burford I would like the forum opinion how it is that the PER stands at just around 2 - what justifies please such a low figure given all the positives I get on future potential .
I have to say that reading this forum I get
the strong impression that there is great disillusionment and not much hope . When will the tide turn ?
In this day and age I am hugely impressed that you have held for so long - but such misery for you since three years . And after being asleep this SP has suddenly miraculously made 20% in two days. For a board shakeup who would you like to go ? I have no views on the Chairman or CFO but I still feel the top guys should be in Amsterdam and be Dutch .
Back a month ago I predicted a share price end January of 40p assuming a lift from the listing in Amsterdam. This obviously hasn’t happened and I have no
Immediate foresight for Renewi and clearly this LSE forum is unlikely to help on present clarity . Inclination is not to expect any great things this year but be thankful not to lose .
