At least I put a limit on of $1.25. I see today trades are going through at $1.10. If I try to trade again, I'll only do so if I can stipulate a minimum number to sell, as well.

Well folks, I've managed to sell a few XBIO - 400 in fact at $1.25 I'd tried to sell more, but hadn't realised that they would sell as many as they could and charge the £50 foreign commission fee, which makes it a poor deal. So I received 58.345p per share, and have learnt a little from the experience. At least selling is possible - but the difficulty of only having matched bargains is one to be wary of.

I decided upon Stocktrade (Brewin Dolphin). Not cheap, but reasonable prices. They really seemed to know what they were doing, and clearly are geared up properly for the US market. I'm assuming the de-mat is complete, in that the shares are in my account with current correct valuation $1.25 and that it appears that I can place a limit or stop loss sell order.

No I haven't tried yet. My de-materialised shares have only appeared in my account today. But I think you are still confused over the conversion of your shares (which you paid 9p for) into XBIO shares. The new XBIO shares did not cost you 9p but effectively 28p, since you now hold less of the new shares. These are what you can theoretically sell at around $1.15, which as you stated is equivalent to around 69p. So you're well in profit. Wait until April - or ditch Barclays!

22p refers to the old number of XEN shares you held in January before the change. Remember XEN were trading around 6p??? 69p refers to the GDP equivalent price of your new XBIO shares - you own approx 32% of your old holding. Good luck with chasing up Barclays. I had opened a new International account, but have taken my XBIO shares elsewhere when I found out they were promising nothing.

Yes that's right. Or you can think of it as 22p for your old XEN shares. Are you sorted out with your broker yet?

Do remember that I'll shortly be just "pro". I have applied for the demat, too, but I gather that they are intending to demat the shares before the owners.

I should have googled first before I posted. Here's one answer I found: Dematerialisation is the process by which your holding of physical share certificates is converted into an electronic record. What that means is that just as a bank holds your money in a savings account, the record of your share holdings is held by an institution called a depository. Demat shares are an electronic record, so there's no question of their being fake. Nor need you worry about bad deliveries. There is no physical share certificate and hence no need to find a safe place to keep it under lock and key. Thanks for posting this. It begs the question - has Xbio traded on a foreign exchange for at least a year? Does AIM count? Their implication that a NASDAQ listing could be sooner this year, rather than next means that a $40m placing is coming soon, or that the foreign listing rule counts. Either way should give us a boost - plus any drug news that could accompany this.

Is this a deliberate ruse to give themselves enough time to arrange/announce a listing on NASDAQ or a placing with US IIs before trading of UK held stock can start? We were warned of delays and being unable to trade in the scheme document. The wait may well be to our advantage, anyway.

Which OTC site? There's otcbb.com and otcmarkets.com. Both have shares in issue @136m (correct without Baxters'), and show volume etc. What else would you like? $3 is correct in that there have been trades going through at that price. otcbb.com also shows individual trades under depth.

Yes, I was in the process of opening an international account - and asked about paying in my XEN certificate when I got this reply. On speaking to them they explained they would be happy to hold stock they had bought via their US arm, but it was to complicated for them to deposit any US Certificate(not just XEN) into the account.

XEN transfer to US very lucrative - except that we can't at present trade due to delays in the transfer process. The SP is the equivalent of over 60p (for old shares) but we expect it to drop when liquidity improves. Has now displaced PDG as my no.1 stock!
