"Broker Shore Capital likes the stock, commenting,"Trading at a 23% discount to the end 2014 embedded value of 1113p, reducing to 21% for 2015F (vs 1080p) with a 6.2% forward yield, based on an unchanged dividend of 53.4p, this stock offers considerable and safe income attractions". Phoenix shares finished up by 4p at 862p."

Came across this today.... The Financial Times also believes William Hill and GVC Holdings, owner of Sportingbet, are two of the suitors for bwin.party.

Anybody have a view as to why this was trading @ 308 early Monday, 3p above the offer?

Had anybody left a 4p sell limit instruction on this? Nope - me neither. ^

Read a report from another company last week (no personal investment so name forgotten unfortunately) saying that as a result of fuel price hedging the cheaper price would not translate to profits. Hope we are not in a similar position!

Hi guys, been a holder for more years than l like to remember but think this is my first post. I saw something a few weeks ago, in an RNS l think. lt said that there was a game changing situation developing details of which, for the time being, had to remain under wraps. I've seen nothing more since and would like to know if l've missed it. Has anybody else seen anything please.

10p target seems a bit mean. Director was buying after the update that knocked the price and cash in the bank so hoping div will be held and target will be passed.

Whatever one thinks about charts, and, with respect, l don't think much having had to teach the subject as a small part of my work for several years, we do all know that this is a well managed and growing company with a sound track record. Nothing good will be achieved by talking it down because of a set of figures purporting to predict trends. I'm a Pisces by the way if that also might be of interest to anyone.

Luke, concerns that the bidder could over pay, worries that the deal will be funded with a rights issue or new shares issued to the targets shareholders with the potential to dilute eps...and nearly as important the market doesn't much like uncertainty and change. I'm also in TTR and thought yesterdays peak was overdone, this explains it, but l notice that TTR has fallen back significantly today so the rumour seems to be lacking legs. .

took a punt on another on line gamer after 4 happy years in GVC. Bought a little early, 45p on the way down, but happy again this morning !

Talk of a return of cash, any details been heard?

Goldman Sachs are forecasting the £ @ 1.50 euro later this year so if that is the reason maybe more to come. However my feeling is that that is not the reason. I've been in here for 4 years now and, as has been mentioned before, there has always been a significant drop on xd. That's a dozen times l've kicked myself for missing the chance of selling and buying back...but very risk adverse, a div in the hand is worth double the profit in the bush! Only a half of one percent of the shares in issue have changed hands today which does not seem so many to me. No institutions selling at that level. Statistically it is probable that inaccurately recorded sells and buys will roughly cancel out each other so the figs shown could be close to accurate.

If the ST you refer to is the one who works at IC then he cost me several K recently on NBU. (ramped at 60 as l remember, now about 12) Will be a long time before l heed his words again!

Prelims are scheduled for "early April" if that helps. Does anyone have a view on whether the "market expectations" referred to in today's RNS are pre or post the last profit warning. Probably post l suppose. My view is that with a good amount of cash in the bank and directors buying after the warning the div is probably safe. l backed my hunch early this morning so hope l'm right. Any opinions???

Watching today's trades, although more sells than buys were recorded, none of the sells went thru' at less than 480. Topped up myself@ myself before Xmas which moved my ave up to 222, Phenomenal yield on original investment....if l keep grinning like this Mrs MM will be calling in the guys in the white coats!
