Non Standard Finance, which is a similar enterprise, gave a pretty bad report on the 25th, including possibly no longer being a going concern.
Marginally better news from them today but there is possibly some cross over on sentiment.

Please do you know the dates on which these targets were issued? Any before May 1st would be of little importance. My research finds only Peel Hunt and Shore have issued updates since then.
Peel say 270, Shore doesn't give a target now. They said 190 in Feb which has long been overtaken by events , only saying hold at 62.5 now. (so that's gone well!)

Since the year end, the Company has moved some of its engineering and data science team to the Ukraine, which gives us access to high calibre talent at competitive rates, as well as a degree of flexibility when demand increases for customer deliverables. In combination with the rationalisation programme undertaken in H2 2019, there are now only 16 full time staff serving four global locations. The Directors will monitor the need for more cost cutting depending on how long it takes for revenues to return to previous levels.

I saw an announcement by the company that they were opening offices in Ukraine to take advantage of a low wage area. I'm past my 3 score and 10 and I've been married to a Ukrainian for more years than I care to remember and have spent much time there.
Ukraine has some of the most corrupt bureaucracy anywhere in the world and a government culture that discourages any entrepreneurial enterprise other than that directly controlled. There are many low wage counties with far more cooperative systems that are also English speaking.
I wrote to Mr Slade on April 9th telling him this and much more and asked him to do maximum due diligence before proceeding.
To date he has not graced me with a reply.
If they go ahead, my money is on an expensive lesson being learned and his failure to get back to me, knowing I'm an investor, to me indicates a degree of rude pig pigheadedness.

$16 million will pay the directors salaries and overheads for a while but I have yet to be in a penny share that consolidated and then didn't return to being a penny share again within a year or less.

I make it a rule now to sell on a penny share consolidating.

Agreed - great company.
Noticed that volumes went to 12m a day around the time of the recent report.
Much preferred the quieter times before the move to the FT100 when 200k was a big day - and the price only went in one direction.

GVC's beta is only 0.48 and the fall is out of all proportion to the market.
A couple of directors recently sold over 2m shares post exercise at about 940 but an RNS might suggest these were taken up by Blackrock.
Wonder if a lot of previous holders of Ladbrokes who don't know GVC's track record are being frightened away?

I've no crystal ball, but in my experience, over the past 34 years every penny share I've been in that has consolidated has reverted to being a penny share again before a year had passed.
I now make it a rule to sell on the announcement. I've only regretted it once but that is more that balanced out by the 8 or 10 times it paid off.
