Well done donalb at getting some away at 8. Yes it was obviously an initial knee jerk reaction to the USA election. Not sure if the outcome is good or bad though in relation to Tui stock?

Hi Mike , I am looking for the cheapest trading platform for trading Tui as regards the fees/FX rate etc and also the ability to trade live myself. Halifax charge a straight 1.25% and I can't trade live myself , I have to put an order in and Halifax trade it as and when so the trade price is not known till it is traded and the quantity traded is not guaranteed. So i could put in an order to trade say 5000 shares but only part of that may be traded. Any thoughts Mike or indeed anyone?

That maybe robert but we , the small fry , are also going to be hit with capital gains tax on our share sale profirts. So much for Labour's promise of not taxing the working person any more which they are now saying that they meant not being taxed any more in their pay packet!!

Hi Mike , the way things have gone with Tui I am past hoping. Too unpredictable. I now just take things as they come. I was just commenting that things will never be back to the good old days of £20 a share or so. Investors are much more wary of risks associated with travel stock now. As regards the reverse 10 to 1 and the 3 caps I have to respectfully dissagree. Time is a great healer as regards those type of events and they are soon forgotten if a company is doing well so imo they will have negligible influence on the future sp provided Tui trade well. So i am not hoping for anything just waiting for my out when I think the time is right. I am in no hurry. I am at the moment around 35% down on my stake. Not sure we will get to that but we will see.

Hi Mary , yes glad to see its trading up but hardly like the old days which i dont think we will see again. Covid made everyone aware just how vulnerable travel stock is to unexpected world risks and that will always now be a big fear factor unfortunately.

Thanks Mike ---- Interesting facts. Covid was the real stunner as regards travel stock sentiment. It showed just how decimating something like that can be to travel companies and the confidence in travel stock has not yet fully returned.

Hi Mike --- just as a matter of interest , in 2018 when Tui were valued at 10.3 billion pounds, have you any idea what their debt level was compared to today?

Quite simply Tui havnt made enough sustained profit and they still have a lot of debt.

Been down as low as £4.66 in our money. Tui hit worse than other travel stocks although carnival also badly hit.

Hi Mary --- what platform do you trade on if you don't mind me asking and what are the charges for buying and selling German stock? Halifax charge a 1.5% FX fee which is high and I am looking for a cheaper option.

With news coming out from various companies of subdued demand leading to softening of pricing , it seems like the surge in travel over the last couple of years is subsiding. The surge was a response to pent up demand anyway since the restrictions of Covid so realistically it wouldn't continue in such a vein. Whereas Tuis next update might be ok , I personally don't think it will be great as some are predicting. Tui is great for short term trading if you have the resources and time due to the wild swings in the sp but sustained sp growth now seems a thing of long times past. Hindsight is always great but knowing when to push that button is very hard to achieve. My objectives have now changed from what I hoped would be medium/long term growth to damage limitation and break even.
