Not bad thanks. Hope you are also well. I can only state my own thoughts from what I have perceived over the last couple of months and i am not knocking your thoughts in any way. As regards bookings , I have been regularly looking at availability to 2 places we normally go , Dalyan in Turkey and Tenerife generally. Normally the hotels we choose would not be available now during July , August and September. But I have been finding there has been availability for these months at relatively short notice and some very good deals , cheaper than we have previously paid , sometines much cheaper? And i am refering to 1 or 2 week breaks. Also multiple reports of people not booking in advance and people in the UK cutting back on regular 1 or 2 week breaks abroad and booking shorter stays in the UK at very short notice , particularily with the hot spells we have been getting. As regards advertising. I was discussing this last week as i have definately been seeing Tui advertising on Tv much more than they normally would this time of year and i was commenting on this point last week. Maybe i watch different programmes to you ( coronation street , emmerdale lol ) where Tui tend to choose for there advertising breaks.. I am not being pessimistic , just stating my thoughts. Would be great though if reality tomorrow was completely different

I think on Wednesday that they will report a slowdown in bookings from all that I can gather. No chance of any dividend , until December at the earliest ,if at all!

Totally agree Baron. The number one issue with Tui now is debt.

No there's no good news

Last year in the middle of May I was looking at a Tui holiday at a particular hotel in Turkey from East Midlands airport. There was no availability left whatsoever in either May or June. Just looked at the same hotel ( which is a very popular hotel which normally gets booked up very quickly ) and there is availability every week in May and June! To me I think that proves that bookings are indeed weak and to me that is not a good sign for the rest of the year. Worrying as Tui needs something amazing as regards volume of bookings to get the sp going but that dosnt look possible! Not looking good!!

Yes Shave but I feel covid changed how debt is perceived as regards Tui. TUI were close to going under if it was not for German government loans and there is always that worry of another long lasting world event and if that happens and you already have large debt then it makes a company extremely vulnerable to going under. I do think Tui will come good at some point but cant see it until long term and only when debt is low. I've been in here for a long time and will stick it out as until I think a dead end is reached.

In my opinion the most important 2 things to attract investors , particularly big investors to a company are sustained profit and low debt and then dividends. Dividends alone are not enough.

My advice Element is ( only my personal opinion ) stay away from Tui. They are a nightmare share. Only really good for day trading as long as you call it right. May come good but thats a long , long way away.

No surprises whatsoever. As expected and totally predictable as per usual!

Because I have been invested in Tui since the better days before covid and have missed various opportunities since to get out without any loss so I am sticking it out until I now get the right opportunity. It sticks in my throat to lose on any company since the Thomas Cook debacle.

It's not fixation Mike. The way debt in a travel company is now viewed as regards it's attractiveness to investment has vastly changed since covid. Just how susceptible to a pandemic or other world event a travel company is became seriously apparent as Tui were on the verge of going under. Investors are now rightly wary about investing in a travel company that has big debt because if we ever we get another pandemic chances are Tui will go under. So not fixation just awareness of what debt could do to Tui.

Hi Mike and all. You are forgetting the big elephant in the room Mike, debt! I believe this is still the biggest negative stalling Tuis sp and news on dividends. It is big and until it is substancially reduced more I don't think there will be any mention of dividends. But never say never!

What a difference a lack of debt makes to a company. Jet2 cash rich and debt poor whereas Tui debt rich and cash poor. Look at Jet2 today! As I said in my previous post Tuis sp is going to remain in a stagnant range for a very , very long time unless they commit to eliminating the debt fully before committing to new expensive ventures! Walk before you run!

I think we can safely say that we are stuck in a range of 6.00--- 7.50 and will be for a very , very long time to come , thats if things dont get even worse in the world , in which case there's no floor especially if Tuis bookings deteriate.

I think you have your answer mjg22 as to which way the cookie is now crumbling!

Around £5.54 equivalent now. Long , long way back from here , IF at all.
