Analysts at Morgan Stanley upgraded their recommendation for shares of Darktrace from 'equalweight' to 'overweight', arguing that the "broader growth story remained intact",

In their opinion, the slowdown seen in constant currency annual recurring revenues over recent quarters - which they had anticipated - was mostly the result of tougher comparables and macro factors.

"Macro weakness bites: In our initiation last September, we flagged that - while we were confident in Darktrace's product and market positioning - there were several factors that kept us Equal-weight.

"One of these was the potential for purchases of Darktrace's relatively greenfield platform to be more discretionary in a tougher macro environment,and that this could lead to deferral of purchase decisions. We see evidence of this playing out [... ]," the analysts said in a research note sent to clients.

"Combined with the most recent company guidance being "sufficiently cautious" and with the shares changing hands on approximately 2.1 times their estimate for its 2024 enterprise value-to-sales, the valuation was "sufficiently cheap".

Morgan Stanley did however trim its target price for the shares from 425.0p to 410.0p.

they pulled out out in Sep 22 with a 6 month window to come back - opportunist did not get the low price.

once the forced seller is gone perhaps this will be green as everyone will be averaging down.

I remember Dialog and Energis - lowest can go lower but I am about to pull a trigger shortly, so watch it sink after that :)

This concerns me to be fair, but the lower it goes the bigger the bounce.

There has been criticism about the company's technology and its founding investor by short-seller Matthew Earl, head of the Shadowfall fund, and analysts Peel Hunt. In January 2022, Earl questioned Darktrace's model and culture, warning clients that the company's model was "watery-thin", based more on sales style than business substance

looks like the indigestion is over for now - nice trajectory at the moment.

bouncing now, but beware the dead cat.

VIX seems to be hovering around 20 and although it is sending a stock market sell due to covering - the reversal looks temporary and US fund managers has been wrong before. Just look at Tesla and ARK.

Fade the tech rally and buy value seems to be the game in town.

I did push buy on a 239.95 quote on HL but it did not fill as the price moved up even though I was in the 15 sec window (8 secs). Was miffed ofr a few secs but releived atm.

Fundamentally a buy for me but the entry is critical and the 6th results may be another disaster or a shorter's opportunity.

That said I may go for tranche 1 of 10 at these levels.

My worry is the reason why customers are turning down free trials? Is the tech outdated.

DD next Monday - anyone think this could go towards £2? Was tempted at 240 after selling mid 260s but strange weakness that seems to be accelerating.
