Polymetal is preparing to relocate its domicile from Jersey to Kazakhstan, so that the Anglo-Russian gold miner can carve out its Russian business in the wake of sanctions and war.
Until recently one of the most profitable gold miners in the world and a FTSE 100 company until last year, Polymetal has become emblematic of the difficulties in navigating mounting sanctions against Russia, despite not being targeted itself.
By redomiciling to Kazakhstan, the company could be allowed by Moscow to split its assets, carving out its Kazakh and

Russian mines into separate entities.
Russia has banned asset sales by gold miners domiciled in “unfriendly” places such as Polymetal’s current choice of the Channel Islands.

How they are holding it at these levels baffles me as it is scooted up to 30p the volume of trades would be go parabolic.

Certainly not gettting out although it did dip in for extra yesterday at 17.2 which will be traded at some point. Core now 200k plus the extras but I want more than 3p increase

the shares rallied on speculation from the 240p area this year so the fall back is not far from that.

Given that these shares went from 92p in March 2022 to 354 by April and then revisited 168p in July and only moved away from the 190/200 range in Oct most new sharesholders should be content at this level.

Looking back I cannot quite believe I reduced over 391p on a intraday spike to 409p on 30th Mar 2022 so there are lots of opportunities here.

Back on the radar and may go back in sub £2 once the matter is clearer.
