Rightly criticised incineration but no mention of more efficient and environmentally more friendly gasification. Even draws link between w2e and poor recycling rates. IE w2e discourages recycling as plastic needed for fuel.

Be realistic!

If Eqtec could convert incinerator plants to gasification could be a winner. I have read UK construction companies are a bit nervous about getting involved in w2e plants as a couple of big projects were pulled costing them big money.

Think the implication in yesterday's budget was no tax rises, so more borrowing. Could indicate unwelcome rise in interest rates. There are plenty of people who can afford to pay more tax at the top end. Rishi should have had a mix of higher rate tax rises and borrowing.

IMO Wood have right expertise but little funds, indeed large debts. So would struggle to fund JVs. I would be more interested to know who European company is in connection with Billingham

Agree great article. Just getting impression big projects lin this space will take a long time to develop. That is why a good run of small, completed and tested projects in Balkans could be key.
