I have contacted IBRK about this and here is their response:
"LSE does not report all executions to IB as we are an electronic broker and LSE still accepts phone orders which do not get forwarded to us via the electronic system"
This is quite bad then, as you can not really make any data driven decisions as the data you see there is incomplete!
They said I would have to get in touch with LSE and ask when they will stop allowing phone orders :)
Seems like for this sort of data different source than IBRK would be required :(
Thanks 3300, again, just to be clear I am not questioning anyone, it's the opposite, I always value your and Paul's opinion and few others (WG, CC, etc. the usual gang :)
The question helped my to understand that the T&S window is not giving me the information I thought it is...
WHITEGHOST, I live not far from Gaydon so if you are organising any event like this I would love to join and even more - to meet you all.
Cheers and GLA
3300, I am not questioning what someone has bought or not. I just want to understand is T&S in IBRK is showing all transactions. From what we can see it is not, so a bit confused on what is the use of this if this is not showing the whole picture. Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks Pau1Oz, so that is clearly not consistent with Time&Sales window in IBRK, as this transaction is not there.
3300, Pau1Oz, could you guys please explain how does this work. I was expecting to see all transactions in the T&S window? Thanks.
Yes I have access to L2 data.
Do you mean 3300 that you prefer to buy in smaller chunks? not really sure what you mean you prefer to see trades in smaller chunks?
BTW, you were right about IBRK (TWS) - really nice platform
Hi All, another beginners question... does Time&Sales show all of the transactions on the stock within particular Market (e.g. LSE) or this is just relevant to the transactions within the broker that you are using? I have assumed this is for the whole market but as Pau1Oz said he bought over 20k shares of AML - I can not see this transaction anywhere? (unless Pau1Oz bought in multiple smaller transactions) Could you please advise. Thanks.
Hi Rox,
Thank you for the information. The current Market Cap is 773.69M. So am I reading your post correctly and it potentially can go below 50p? I am on a big learning curve at the moment so any clarification would be much appreciated. Thanks
Hi All,
I did not buy/sell any shares with DLAR but was watching this chart for the last few days. Trying to understand what just happened today as the share went up already over 20% from a spectacular fall. I understand that the company results were released this morning along with the information of the company planning to release additional shares. So here are my questions:
1. Why there is such a big fall? Was it a panic selling? If yes, why?
2. what are the possible reasons that the share price sky rocket after the fall?
3. and finally, assuming the people that understand the market know what they are doing, was it an easy decision for them to buy at the dip? Or was it a guess and it could have been going all the way down?
I would much appreciate if someone could provide some logical explanation on this behaviour? Thanks.
Yes, I have sent an email to 3300 asking about your experience with IBRK - as I have seen you are using this and I was thinking about switching to them from ii. I have posted same question on the forum but you did not respond.
Also, mail to Valhalla and Pau1Oz, as I value your knowledge and just asking about meaningful sources of information, that's it. Again I have posted this on the forum and got some great responses that I can investigate further but just wanted to ensure you will see it so sent an email. In an way 3 of you should be proud ;)
All help much appreciated. Thanks.
Valhalla14, apologies, did not know this is against the rules etc. I was just asking about any meaningful sources of information where I can deepen my knowledge. There is a lot of it on the web these days but it is not easy to separate it from all of the marketing ones etc. I have asked the same question on the forum as well.
I have been following this forum for a week now and in my head managed to paint a picture of the active people here that I could learn a lot. You come across as very knowledgeable so I just asked for an advice where can I search for information.
Will not do it again, apologise.
Frank3h,
I am in the same boat as you and also learning. I have same savings and bit more time now due to COVID so perfect time to pick this up. Before I will start to invest any bigger amounts day trading I have set up a demo account and using that to testing strategies etc. Currently widening knowledge around technical analysis. I find it difficult to separate value added information to all the crap ones. There are a lot of people claiming that have started earning £k in few weeks etc and just trying to sell you their courses. One good source is 'investopedia'. Do you guys have any other good sources to recommend to deepen the knowledge? Thanks and GLA
Thanks for pointing this out. I got it now after googling UT. So here is another question (I could not find the answer to it). The smaller the spread the better the liquidity of a share, so when we have a large UT, potentially this should be a good indication for the next day - as bid and ask are the same. Is that correct thinking? Thanks.
Hi All,
Nearly £681k AML worth of shares have been purchased after the market closed today. I am still learning but that must be good for tomorrows opening price, right?
When I was out on a bike ride today there was an AM Vantage driving pass. I was so proud I am a lucky owner of a fraction of the company that is making such an amazing machines ;)
Thanks for all your help and good advice so far and keep the conversation going.
Thanks igunu. Anyone else with some opinion please?
Also, I am currently with interactive investor (ii) but looking to switch to either IG or Interactive Brokers. After doing some research I can see that IG is quite good on prices (£3 on UK trades and £0 on US when more than 3 trades a month) and it has good charting technical analysis tools. IBRK pricing model is a bit more confusing (still trying to work it out), their charting tools seem pretty good as well on some YouTube videos, however not sure if all functionality is available for U K traders?. On the trust pilot IBRK is getting a few negative comments recently so that is slightly putting me off.
Also, is the PDT rule applicable for UK traders using either IG or IBRK for US market (bit vague info on this on the web)? Could you guys please explain and recommend on or the other? Thanks
Hi All,
Since this is a car topic and I really appreciate most of the opinions here (as per my previous post) I would like to ask if anyone is looking at Nikola Corporation? They seem to be quite good at marketing and generating media noise and considering that they have not sold anything yet (pre-orders on their first truck Badger are set to open on 29th June) their shares are doing quite well. Is anyone trading on the US market as well? Please share your thougts on the potential of this share. Thanks.
M.
