I don’t think ECO will be able to farm out Cooper, I think interests will re focus, perhaps just as what happened with Prospect S following C1? I don’t think Tullow will stay in PCL’s PEL 37 either. IMO, I think both Tullow and ONGC Videsha already have an idea where they are going/want to go next.
LONDON (Reuters) - Africa-focused Tullow Oil will abandon its first well in Namibia, but data gathered in the project indicated it might strike lucky in another attempt, it said on Monday.

In discussion with the PEL 37 joint venture, the Company is assessing the implications of the Cormorant-1 well for the overall oil potential of that very large Block.

Previous evidence of a functioning hydrocarbon system in the frontier Walvis Basin was from the Wingat well of 2013, which recovered oil to surface. Cormorant is 170 kilometres to the north of Wingat and proves a working source rock adjacent to Global's acreage - this is highly encouraging, especially given other indications of the presence of hydrocarbons in the Company's blocks.
Peter Hill, Global Petroleum's CEO, commented: We are very encouraged by firm evidence from drilling of a working hydrocarbon system in the area adjacent to our acreage, which we believe has positive implications for the multiple prospects in our Namibian portfolio. We are fortunate that this news has arrived so soon after we secured Block 2011A.
