I have worked in Northern Russia. Worst we got was minus 63. Minus 20 was fine. The problem is after that the steel becomes brittle. The pipe on tubing crimps. We shut down at minus 40.
What people do not get is there is no moisture in the air. It is not like minus 10 in UK. The north slope and Northern Russia are the same in the winter. It snows pre winter and not again. I hope for Friday testing news but think Monday. Double RNS on testing at Talhita and Logging complete at TW. They drilled the well too fast!!! They will not have 2 test sets ready. Going to have to test Talhita completely and then move. IMO. The good thing is they can rig down and move the rig and then move the CT unit up. Timing could be perfect.
