RE: Dr. Trevor Philips to step down as CEO?29 Apr 2020 01:40
Trevor has been utterly useless since time immemorial, omitting him must be a good thing. Trevor was SO useless in the final year at HVO that my belief is it was purposeful. I'm guessing he was approached well in advance of the offer and made a generous personal offer to effectively "do nothing" and approve a merger.
The price HVO went for was ridiculous - even Cathal continuously mentions that fact, it only went that low for a short while before the merger happened, and on tiny volumes. Just £10-20k of sells at the time led to a drop of ~40% and a price that Trevor "recommended accepting" despite always saying HVO was about to turn profitable; the story made no sense whatsoever. With a known II seller in Woodford, a completely silent company, and Cathal being astute, all that was missing was a useless Executive Chairman being on board, and the plan was complete. How to get him onboard? A generous payment offer, a novelty CEO title, then quietly sweep him under a carpet.
All in my opinion of course...
