Thank you so much for that information. I am was being super conservative on what could happen for the rest of the quarter, on a doomsday covid scenario, though not long to go and a massive improbability of your figures changing that much.

Q4 results are only seven weeks away today. More so than Q3 results, with all the political sensitivity around that time, I see this being an excellent, market pleasing quarter.

What to do with all that extra cash. All good options on the table. Reduce debt, increase buybacks, increase the dividend. On the latter, I would not be surprised to see the annual 4% dividend increase at Q4.

Interesting and clearer times ahead beyond this current fog.

I'm obese in BP but quite relaxed. Oil price is key here and, despite some blips, Q4 average must be going to come in at $70+

From BP Q3 results....

On average, based on bp’s current forecasts, at around $60 per barrel Brent and subject to the board’s discretion each quarter, bp continues to expect to be able to deliver buybacks of around $1.0 billion per quarter and have capacity for an annual increase in the dividend per ordinary share of around 4% through 2025.

That is in addition to the prize. By 2025 BP should be generating 25GW of renewable energy ( up from 20GW ) and 50GW by 2030. I see this as a conservative target.

Orsted, a competitor in renewables, If I recall correctly has a target of 20GW by 2025

BP's valuation is based solely on Oil and Gas revenue. So you can see the opportunity here. Oil and gas are going nowhere for decades. BP continues to drill new wells as in the Gulf of Mexico and elsewhere. There are focusing on lowest cost/ highest profit Oil. Opec+ are now disciplined and united, they will control the taps and price accordingly going forward.

Imagine the value of a company that has Oil and Gas together with a renewable energy business to boot by 2025 to 2030. I guess you could put both companies market values together as a guide on value today.

In these sentiment driven days of gloom just think forward to the possible heights BP's share price could reach by 2025. That's why I remain invested and will be topping up.

Hi mate, glass half full, a sp dip until at least Friday will be great for reinvestment of dividends. Mojo also mentioned Friday being Quadruple Witching Day so Friday / Monday could be interesting.

This is Putin playing political chess. Germany have been stalling on authorising Nordstream due to the annexing of the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine.

Putin knows he can pressure Germany by placing 100,000 troops on the Ukrainian border. The US and EU threaten sanctions but want the gas supply. This is just a political game.

Russia do not really want to invade Ukraine and have massive sanctions, US and EU do not want to get involved.

So the outcome will be Nordstream authorised by Germany, Russian troops pull back.

licker, I have always had some regard for your previous posts but your personality seems to have changed along with your recent loss of confidence in your investment in BP.

I wasn't directing my comments to you, I was responding to BPInvestor and his/her its ' stop trying to change the subject' bulls*it so I am confused as to why you felt the urge to respond in such a way towards me.

You seem to be very concerned about your investment and losing confidence, for a myriad of possibilities if not probabilities, and I understand that.

As a footnote, if you are invested in BP, there will always be issues that 'could' affect your investment. Its about risk and reward. I have a substantial investment in BP and try to ignore the ifs, buts and maybes. I expect holding my shares for the next few years will be very rewarding.

I do not disagree with most you post. Hospitals are under pressure. Delta is a problem, back logs of operations and missed medical treatments, ( no daily figures on the amount of cancer, heart or serious disease deaths as a result of cancelled treatments in prioritising covid ) are putting terrible pressures on our wonderful NHS staff on top of the flu season.

But the issue being discussed here is Omnicron and, to all factual evidence available to date, is a mild form of Covid.

Time will tell. I do believe everyone should have all the jabs available but not under threat of losing your livelihood.

Some old and vulnerable die every year from flu. In the UK, the average deaths per year from the flu ranges from 10,000-25,000.

That is a tradegy but we live with it and got on with our lives. We have to do this with Covid-19.

We are all being treated as fools by the UK government. All real data so far from South Africa, who have a four to five week lead on Onmicron is that it is a mild flu like virus that those infected recover in 5 to 7 days fully. No respiratory problems, unlike previous variations that filled ICU units.

Their hospitals are not overwhelmed, their GP surgery are not overwhelmed. Cases spread rapidly but there is no panic. SA has no restrictions in place except a night curfew.

This is with many living tightly packed in shanty townships, poverty, only 20% vaccinated, hiv epidemic.

It really is frustrating that citizens take on face value what they are being told without any facts or data and ignore facts and data that proves the opposite.

The sad fact is the majority of the population are stupid. That's why they still have " Do not drink " on bottles of bleach.

Perhaps they should remove those warnings and do society a favour.

In my £1m+ backed opinion, BP is at the starting point of a multi year, oil, bull run regardless of the transition. All the pieces are coming together slowly. If you can have patience and hold for at least a year or so ( my first reconsideration is planned for 2025 ) in my opinion and hope, there is no better place to be than in oil super majors and specifically BP. With the loyalty bonus of 4%+ as a dividend to boot, a possible 50% gain in 24 months is, in my opinion a good possibility.

Wishing everybody all the wealth and health possible.

Fact. No oil majors are exploring new areas due to financial and political pressures.

Fact. All oil majors are going for low cost, high profit barrels. No more drill, drill, drill boom and bust.

Fact. Oil demand will outstrip supply due to the above for at least a decade or two.

Fact. BP will be a lowest cost/ highest profit, streamlined cash machine for decades to come.

Prediction. Due to all of the above. Black gold will become blue diamonds. So rare and costly. Greater demand / lesser supply.

It is only a matter of timing rather than possibility.
