*If* we reverse back into a uptrend this week I would expect shorts to start reducing before ex divi. This would increase buying pressure. Im pretty sure they will hold out as long as they can, but once this bottoms they wont want to be in a dividend paying stock that is turning around, without a rights issue, that's holding serious FCF with potential takeovers muted. There are now much easier targets that are less risky for the short funds

If you are short you need to cover the dividend

Given the last 9 mondays you would think so..however the monday trend must end at some point?

This is delicately poised now ..the sparks are starting..I would like to call it but I am optimistic for next week

Standard is FCF x 10 = $7Bn = current SP X 3..maybe why they want to get it to £3?

Not sure how they factor in potential goodwill impairments, even if they do?

To the layman its a strong BUY article so whilst it maybe inept and naive its still positive advertising (to a certain extent)

Chris there are many people like yourself waiting for this to bottom so they can buy back in or start afresh

Personally I just hold through the pain and take the dividend. No way would I sell this "cheap" because of a trend

Absolute minimum if I was desperate for money would be broker median. This will be 800+ in a year or so

The reason Stocko has done this is due to the impairment hitting the net profit. As much as I rate their system ,it has no way of knowing that monster impairment isnt recurring , so it just sees a massive swing into loss last year and assumes this could be a yoy

Note it's only the interim not the final divi as well

Now the XDivi here is a very interesting one. Logically you would expect the fall and the downtrend to continue

Im not so sure. If the safety net circa 1253 holds (Which coincidentally is close to SP - Divi) then will be many looking at that for an entry point / top up even at a fund level..we shall see

I agree on topping up at these levels..I just posted this on advfn, as people seem to be focusing on the small decline yoy in the revenue which is not the point really

JG..yes it is but Im more interested in the bigger picture. Look at the "chart of mondays" since 14/12/20
