Worse case scenario is that some banks lent c.125% against an asset and that the payee defaulted from day one and that more liquid banks bought such stock packaged up at a discounted price knowing that they will get at a % back against such if push comes to shove to give such players freedom to play. In the interim , the slant of political hand enables the larger banks to simply write off all exposure to such , restrict liquidity and when the dust settles , simply enable them to add such stock back in. IMO , this sub-prime exposure remains a fight against organised crime and a co-ordinated attempt , world-wide , to shake out bad practice.

. it amazes me that writing off billions in profits is met with such glee from the yanks and UK . Banks are in vogue. They have seemingly endless support... consider the price they pay.. I for one enjoy the rally like most , but search for monies to short when the bear rally is called to a halt...when it happens , new figures on falls will be recorded and at a fall that will be , simply , greatness. I plan to retire on the back of this bear rally.

BA , BT , Rank , Jaguar , Ford Uk , Land Rover , British Steel , Rover?leyland / our airports / security you name it , the UK gives it up... many will say I am a complete uncle and a waste of space , but , 20 years down the line , it is the young ones that have nothing to show for , no national pride.

you must be aware my idea of long is for hours , days at a push. I see a bear rally , ie. a small rally in the stocks you have mentioned , aside from thus , and a time to pull , for me , though the likes of BT is a no go.

BT ..look at my posts , yes for the long , Bradford and Bingley , cut my teeth with this one , yes for the long , RBS the same , I like Thus Group , telecomes are out , but buy them for the long , leeinlong.... My advice is to cash them all in at the highs later this week , or next , who knows , and then short the lot... and then buy in... BT and RBS are soon to be shorts , qs I sqid , I like Thus on the continued long..

...is your UK government... there is little to rally RNK further than base price. It is likely , like Friends Provident , that the board of directors dismiss the offer and loose the deal. To me , Rank is dust and if they blow this offer , over the next few days I will cash in.

I picked up a few on the lows , sub 87 , only as a punt/gamble. This stock is now subject to media... the 959 was dollars and I worked out before researching further that this was c.123 , infact there is an offer at 124 , not bad for an old man to work out on the back of a fag packet 123... hold and not buy is my advice.

.. I like COB for the long term , bit like RR , BAE , etc , put a few away as they will not fly , but over the years a safe bet.

We go to the paddock that is reserved for all year round ticket holders just over the orange bridge in between the first big right hander after the start and it's exit. The only reason why we go there is as the kiddies can mess around without getting lost as they are not allowed back over the bridge unaccompanied and without tickets so easy to allow them to have fun without fear of loosing them. They have loads of things to do at this circuit so for us it's better to have an all year round pass as it is only 3 hrs or so from where we live in france. It is an excellent circuit and the spanish know how to have fun. Wherever you are watching from will be just fine , it's worth walking around the circuit aswell to soak up the atmosphere .. alot of fun

not still due to be whacked.. watching these with interest. I understand why they fell last week and how sentiment can continue downward pressure so better to allow breathing space after a fall to find its supported level , etc , but will continue to watch. Price rigging , loosing monies on contracts and raw material shortage/milk costs ,etc , will no doubt continue to effect further downward pressure on this stock...
