RE: The £1 Billion bid.19 Oct 2021 10:51
"...assuming it’s positive, of course!), it would be a cash offer for the Therapeutics division only."
The diagnostics division would be in the mix for good reason as it has received in my opinion a dramatic boost to the infrastructure and publicity beyond what would conventionally be imagined pre-pandemic. With this in mind what was a smaller segment of the healthcare sector, is in the process of transforming itself to become a major player. So far the market has been flooded with inferior products from overseas, with little to no IP. But once the latest generation of LFTs (e.g. Affidx) hit the market in a bigger way, the mood amongst the major investors will change. With that in mind, I believe that larger investors are about to underline this area with a few substantial acquisitions over the next 6-12 months. I am not averse to a cheeky offer, but I would doubt that it would be less than £6Bn and think it will be for both therapeutics and diagnostics.
