IParsnip, as you might have seen from my posts I am in the red as much as you are (I suppose). I can only think that all confounding factors are now out of the picture so from now on it's only a matter of patience rather than hope. I don't know your timeframe for this investment but I can't see this making 100% in 2023. So unless more surprises come up I think it's better to just stop looking at it, a watched pot never boils!
To those that claim he's not involved please remember that his investment fund Invoke Capital, which was Darktrace’s first and biggest shareholder, retains a 4.2% stake, while his wife, Angela Bacares, owns 6.5%. Jointly, they own shares worth almost £200m. So even if he doesn't even make a single phone call to Dark's youngest intern, they still could need the money. Bail is set at 100mil US$, that's a lot of shares that could be dumped soon..
Thank you Hexam, always helpful! Definitely earned a few pints :)
At this point I can only accept it and be patient. After all, as you said, I know what my slides are worth so it's just a matter of time till I breakeven..hopefully in a reasonable timeframe!
Hi Mary, Hexam, sorry to bother you again, definitely keen to offer all you can drink pints!
The broker got back to me with their process and it seems purposedly tweaked to confirm their figures?
Please see below:
The cost incurred to participate in the Capital Increase = 5334 new shares * subscription price 4.9047 (4.9047 is the equivalent in pounds of the subscription price of 5.55 eur indicated in the email, calculated with an exchange rate of 0.88373) = 26161.67
+
counter value of rights (i.e., n.rights * price of rights) = 5334
rights * 5.401171 = 28809.84
+
exchange value of shares = 2000 shares* adjusted price 19.94 = 39880
(market reported adjustment factor 0,58065).
divided the total shares (i.e. divided 7334) = 26161.67 + 28809.84 + 39880 = 94851.51
94851.51/7334 = 12.93 (the price you see in your portfolio)
In your opinion, is this correct?
I promise I won't get back on this again!
Many thanks in advance
I think that people that can afford travelling at the moment outnumber the seats available, travel companies are not fully staffed yet so even if they report full planes revenues will still less than pre-pandemic, then inflation ,then interest rates all eroding further margins.
I read this on the FT and found it really interesting. Not sure if it's open read: https://www.ft.com/content/6bd19362-f890-4370-af84-f3130e505e1c.
Can post the full article if needed.
Thank you all for your support!! MikeS02, Stupmy, Hexam, Greylady, MaryBr190, I'm a bit relieved as I did put all down on paper and worked it out for better understanding.
Turns out I am right, my numbers are right, and my investment is safe.
However, I didn't realise Hexam is right spot on, the average doesn't count! I mean it does look bad in the red but since I know from my calculations that I will break even at 9£ then it doesn't matter what the system says.
Again, MikeS02, Stupmy, Hexam, Greylady, MaryBr190 thank you so much helping a clueless stranger, much appreciated.
Sorry to interrupt the good vibes, but unfortunately I have no idea what to do with my average. My broker said it's not their fault since the system does all the maths and they cannot change that. But I should have an ABP of 9 and instead I got 12.93. With my investment turns out I'm basically -56% down instead of -37%, almost 15k difference! not to mention that it's going to take way longer to get back to 13£ than to just 9£. Has this ever happened to anyone before? did anyone manage to sort it?
Thanks
Fingers crossed for next week indeed!
However, just for the record, I was credited my RI shares only this Tuesday. Appalling service from my broker (or TUI drip-feeding PIs to avoid disruptions?), has anyone experienced the same?
Also, more importantly, I entered the RI with 2k shares at an average of 19.94, broker confirmed 5.3k RI shares were bought at 4.90, and yet my new average is 12.93 instead of 8.99. Does anyone have any idea why is that? should I complain (again) with my broker?
many thanks!
Maybe today is the first day bagholder PIs are unloading a bit after having averaged themselves out? Markets today are also generally a bit on the lows after banking data so difficult to gauge real terms.
However, I still haven't been credited with my new shares, called again and they said they are "working on it". Wonder if my broker is just lazy of if TUI really is dripfeeding the market to avoid massive selloffs?
Given the buy/sales numbers from yesterday it does look like there's some soft manipulation on how to show sp fluctuation, even just with some clever algebraic and buy/sells reporting timing maybe?
I still haven't been credited any shares..I don't know if others got them but could it be possible that TUI is going to credit shares in a sort of drip-feed way? it could be the reason why we don't see huge sways of the sp one way or the other?
It still is very strange to me as in the last RI I received new shares on the first day of trading as per prospectus.
Mine still not credited! Called the broker they said the order went in, they are just waiting to receive them from MMs partners. Go figure.
For the record, I am not nervous because I want to sell asap, I'm a medium term holder on TUI, ie sell when it hits 10£. I was just worried my broker messed with my order back in early April.
Ha! Of course iParsnip! I'm already down 74% so just want to know if I get diluted or not.. sent the order on April 6 but no changes since then so I thought maybe they'll assign new shares on the 24th? so far no update on my portfolio and no money was taken so yeah nervous this is going to turn to like -90% in half an hour..
I know they say Mr Lynch is not involved with Dark anymore and yet DARK sp suffers from any single piece of news coming from this man. For the same reasons, I'm sure other companies and businesses in both UK and US are very wary of him and cause loss of trust. I might be controversial for saying this but I'd prefer Mr Lynch and wife to just drop whatever big holdings they have in well managed, stable, and profitable companies the likes of Darktrace and go about sort their s**t out. Then, once no pending proceedings are left, they can go about buying back whatever they like. In this case it would be best to unload their DARK shares and use the proceedings to settle with HP. Or give their shares to them even! I know ppl here might be outraged by this idea but if they are found not guilty then he can well counter-sue HP for reputational damage compounded by all the years passed by since the sale of Autonomy. That would bring back all the funds he spent to unload his holdings. IMHO
