When the new Dail is selected in December it still has to be voted in by the Dail members. The coalitions majority is sliver thin so it is possible it will lose and that will result in a general election which Sinn Fein will dominate.
The following comment by Ryan is laughable:
“We have to be in five governments in a row doing this full tilt. This is the biggest change ever, the most important historic change ever,” he said.
The chances of the Greens being in power for "five governments in a row" is pie in the sky. The Greens will only survive this one if they are lucky. To talk of "five" is a joke.
One or two blackouts between now and December and they won't even be in power in January.
Ryan might physically be there but there is nothing between his ears that might hint at a touch of reason.
As you rightly say 100 North Sea Licenses issued and we cannot get a nerd like Ryan to approve a single one.

If Germany get there first what will be left for us if they get all the excess UK gas?
Ryan making excuses after two "wind" projects he promoted have now been withdrawn by investors.
Talk about "Voice of one crying in the wilderness" attached to his messianic mindset. Will he ever grow up?

What do "they" mean by "Irish energy Independence"?
Ireland currently gets the major part of its gas from the UK and Corrib is running out so it is certainly not currently "energy independent".
"There are now 70 operational data centres in Ireland using 900 megawatts (MW), with eight under construction with 250MW usage. Most are concentrated around Dublin which has become the largest data centre hub in Europe. The amount of electricity consumed by data centres last year was 3,993 GWh. Last year renewables, wind had
4,309 MW of installed wind power and wind turbines generated 36.3% of Ireland's electrical demand which equates to approx. 1,400 MW so the datacentres used all the generated wind power and a lot more.
Energy Independent"? Certainly not from wind or sun for years to come.
So Ireland has a choice. Kick out all the datacentres or get your electricity generation from somewhere else.
Can you see Mary Lou or anyone else throwing out the datacentres? 70 here already and more to come. So who is going to kill the fatted calf?
So, lets get real. Renewables are not going to replace oil and gas for years to come. So where are we going to get it?
Interesting article in today's UK papers.
"The fracking industry is exploring a mammoth legal challenge of between £500m and £1billion against the Government after it suddenly re-banned shale gas extraction last month. "
If the fracking companies in the UK can sue for losses due to the "fracking" ban, surely Irish oil/gas companies can sue the Irish government for not allowing them to implement the licenses that the self-same government granted them in the first place and for which the government charges quite exorbitant annual fees?
Justice will be served at some time and it would be good to see Ryan in the dock at the Dublin Four Courts as he tried to get out of that one.
Pie in the Sky.
Here is the list of "renewables" presented by Ryan in March 2022. How many are underway and how many will be ready by 2025 if ever? Why 2025? Because there will be an election by then, if not sooner, and Ryan will be well and truly for the birds as Sinn Fein will be in power and will not need the Greens support.
Here are Ryan's "seven qualified Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) projects, known as "relevant projects:
Oriel Wind Park
RWE (previously Innogy Renewables), (2 projects – Bray and Kish Banks)
Codling Wind Park (2 projects – Codling I and Codling II)
Fuinneamh Sceirde Teoranta (Skerd Rocks)
North Irish Sea Array Ltd (North Irish Sea Array)
Let's take "Oriel Wind Park".
Development of the project began in 2003, and Parkwind entered the project in 2017. The partnership with ESB was created in 2019. And it is expected to be functional by 2026.
So it will take 13 years to build and "it will will add up to 375 megawatts in capacity to power approximately 300,000 households". There are about 2m households in Ireland and when you add in the electricity usage for datacentres, factories, farms, etc. this will be a drop in the ocean and will only work when the wind blows.
Not only that, But "Wind Energy Ireland has released its July Wind Energy report, which shows that wind energy provided 21% of Ireland’s electricity in July 2022." I wonder how many of the turbines in the wind fields were turning?
As for RWERWE (previously Innogy Renewables), (2 projects – Bray and Kish Banks). What happened years ago when Providence wanted to drill and exploration well on the Kish bank? All hell broke lose from the residents and it was squashed due to political "pull" as they did not want to see a "Jacked up" drilling rig from their front windows. Do you think those "Nimbies" will allow a wind farm with hundreds of turbines damaging their view? Not till hell freezes over.
https://www.irishtimes.com/environment/2022/09/26/offshore-wind-farm-plan-prompting-worries-in-east-coast-communities/
Shall I go on or do you want to do your own research and tell us how Ireland, with this wind approach, will be "self-sufficient" by 2030 as Mary Lou has promised if it takes 23 years for one potential wind farm to be potentially functional.
Get Real.
I don't see the votes in the dail including Sinn Fein.
"A counter-motion by the government, affirming its current policy position on reducing Ireland’s reliance on fossil fuels, was carried with 64 votes in favour, 50 against, and one absent."
64 votes in favour were surely the combined votes of Fine Fail, Fine Gael and the Greens so surely the 50 voting against had to be members of Sinn Fein.
As for Mary Lou's statement, since Ireland gets its gas from England which Sinn Fein is totally against where will she get Ireland's fossil fuels to give Ireland "energy independence"?
Speaking on RTÉ's The Week in Politics today she said "On climate action she said Sinn Féin would focus on getting the practicalities right rather than on targets. "We can't have a big State spend that ties us into fossil fuels over the longer term but we also have to make sure we can keep the lights on," .
So, she wasn't ruling out "short term" use of fossil fuels which obviously have to be part of the equation and as she said earlier the aim was "the achievement of energy independence" which can only mean using fossil fuels from Ireland's own resources which obviously has to include the development of Barryroe.

Mary Lou McDonald, in her final speech at the Sinn Fein ardfheis (annual party conference) yesterday that she did not think much of the government change in December and Sinn Fein in power would look to "achieve energy independence". She said ...
"There are three big opportunities for Ireland over the next decade – the reunification of the country; the achievement of energy independence; and the power of young people, said McDonald."
Since Barryroe has always been touted as part of "Irish energy independence" that sounds like good news as either Sinn Fein will get into government post December or in the future in 2025 and probably with a good majority then so it is still a waiting game for us.
A few "blackouts" between now and then and Ryan will be for the birds, hopefully sooner rather than later
I think BEY is being kind to Ryan and the government and timing is everything.
The least Barryroe could do would be to sue the government for all the fees paid to date for Barryroe which amounts to millions of euros. They could also sue the government for the costs spent to date, amounting to about $200m on Providences searches, which under the Oil and Gas law in Ireland, can be claimed out of profits but if you are prevented from working then how can you create profits?
Look at Corrib. I don't think they have to date paid any taxes as they are still recouping costs. I think they are reclaiming about €3billion over the life of the field which is estimated to be the cost of how much it took to develop the field.
There are a few other issues in Barryroe's favour and hopefully will come to pass.
First of all, I believe there are lashings of oil and gas in Barryroe otherwise Ryan would not try to stop it. Why put blockers on Barryroe if the 2023 license is a dead duck? Why not just let Barryroe get on with it and do what O'Reilly did in the past, spend big and waste hundreds of euros and dollars on wild goose chases if it is just another wild goose chase and Barryroe is non-commercial.
Next, 15th December (or slightly later) Ireland will have a new government when Martin and Fine Fail hand over to Varadkar and Fine Gael but, in fact that is no certainty that either will be in charge as the government has to be voted in by the Dail and the Fine Fail/Fine Gael/Greens combination has only a wafer thin majority. It is possible that the Greens will be ditched and with it Ryan as Minister for "Minister for the Environment, etc," as the new government has to be voted in; a vote it could easily lose as Fine Fail and Fine Gael just won the last vote of confidence when 4 Independents voted with them so no guarantees this time.
The Barryroe plan "is to appraise in 2023 and produce by 2026" so it has all of next year to appraise so they are in no rush to get approval and even if they have to wait until 2025 or later there will be an election in 2025 and it is a near certainty that Sinn Fein will be part of the government and Ryan, even if he is still there then, will be for the birds as the Greens will certainly be for the high jump by then.
So it is a waiting game. Barryroe will be developed. It is just a case of when. It was always anticipated no gas or oil would flow before 2026 and there is a lot of water to flow under the bridge between now and then by which time Ryan will be for the birds and sanity will return to Irish politics.
As John Milton said "We also serve who only stand and wait". We are waiting even if we have to wait for 2025 for a new government and, hopefully, flowing oil and gas by 2026. We have waited ten years already so what is another few?
Change over of Taoiseach on 15th December might be delayed a day or two to allow Martin to attend meeting in Brussels then Varadkar will become the new Taoiseach with a new government if elected by the Dail. Will he dump Ryan or has Ryan got such a hold on the government that they cannot get rid of him as he has them by the b***s or will the Independents force him out as a deal to support Varadkar?
"The change of Taoiseach requires Mr Martin to tender his resignation to President Michael D Higgins and for Mr Varadkar to be elected to the Dáil, then be formally appointed by the President, before appointing his own Cabinet. Such proceedings will require a full sitting of the Dáil."
"Ursula von der Leyen has told EU leaders to ensure that any cheaper gas the bloc secures does not reach the UK."
How does Ursula think Ireland gets its gas?
If the UK does not get "cheap" gas then Ireland does not get "cheap" gas.
And since Ireland currently pays Corrib exorbitant prices for the rest of its gas will they too be subject to the cap?
Perhaps Ryan can clear all of this up for us who shiver without the heat on.
https://www.agriland.ie/farming-news/ireland-needs-dedicated-energy-minister-mep/
In another month, December, Leo Varadkar will take over as Taoiseach and back when the last government was being formed in 2020 he promised that, if ever they were back in government, he would get rid of "leaky" ministers. He did not say what he would do with "leaky and lying" ones, such as Ryan, but hopefully he will get rid of both and ditch the Greens if either Fine Fail or Fine Gael ever want to get into power again.
The December reshuffle will hopefully mean Ryan is either ditched or moved to a different role. How about Minister of Agriculture? If that happened, I would expect to find him swimming in some nice slurry pit somewhere very soon
https://www.newstalk.com/news/leo-varadkar-says-hell-get-rid-leaky-ministers-government-1012155
Ryan says no guarantee for data centre unless it has its own backup supply yet Varadkar said previously to BIG Tech that there was no limit on data centres.
https://www.businesspost.ie/news/varadkar-advised-to-brief-multinationals-on-data-centre-expansion-despite-limited-grid-supply/
Who is in charge in this country? Under the lids it is as bad as the mess in the UK where Truss is under threat and there is a move to bring back Boris. How do the coalition get rid of Ryan? Puncture his bike, perhaps or will Varadkar get rid of him when he takes over again as the boss?
Could you imagine if Ryan got control of oIl?
The first thing he would do was to nationalise Barryroe and Kinsale.
Remember his claimed on September 20th that "shortly" we would have a national oil storage facility
"Ryan told energy ministers that he would shortly publish an energy security review which would detail plans for a state owned gas storage facility in Ireland."
How long is "shortly"? In Ryan's book, probably as long as he has been sitting on the Barryroe license agreement.
Ryan is a negative big mouth who keeps winding himself ever deeper into his ideological dung heap.
Article today in Daily Mail says UK could have major shortages of gas this winter. Will they still send it on to us through Moffat if that happens?
Do they love us that much?
"Britain 'faces a gas supply emergency': Energy regulator warns of 'significant risk' of gas shortages over winter as experts predict supplies could drop to 5% after Russia tightened the taps."
As for "tightening the taps", the Russian taps have been turned off now that Nord Stream 1 and 2 have been blown up. If Putin gets the chop there is a chance they could be fixed but who can depend on that?
Ryan was at a meeting today which agreed to syphon off windfall profits from gas and oil companies.
He claims Ireland could get “One to two billion (euro), sort of, is the expectation of what we should expect." he said but from what companies since, other than Corrib, there is none in Ireland and Corrib is still tax free as it took billions to develop and all is free until its costs are recouped.

I see the company website has had a face lift and is now looking new and fresh under its new name "Barryroe Offshore Energy".

Last year we had the six months accounts by the end of September. Hopefully we will have the new set soon hoping they are going to say they are going to sue Ryan for his tardiness in not giving the permission.
