It doesn't surprise me that the new management team are keen to avoid overcrowding and underdelivering. Covid could definitely impact operations and the Canadian stockholders will know iwhether or not there is an ongoing surge in the red lake district. We have been crying out for better communications and management of expectations. Give the new team some credit in return for the improving operational data that were developing through December.

Re patent coverage of HVAC filters. Ownership of background IP should not be in doubt. A risk of small companies getting into JV's with big corporations with vastly superior technical and legal resources is that it puts foreground I.P. ownership at risk. Would be worth a patent search to determine the baseline here.

I fear the silence on progress is down to.production capacity of the nanopowder. From what I can see the literature on spinning disc reactors would categorise them as laboratory rather than commercial production devices. Production rates are typically kg/day. Major scale up or investment in multiple reactors may be needed before things like HVAC filters are a commercial reality.

Ah well, at least it should boost the market appeal of my GDR (lamp test) shares. Lose on the swings gain on the roundabout?

Avacta RNS this morning casts doubt on the reliability of all current LFT tests. GDR have an opportunity to hit the ball out of the park. Will they finally demonstrate commercial abilities and something resembling speed to market?

I'd think the trial could be on behalf of the NHS but it could just as well be a new requirement for UK approval (or not!) as it could be a precursor to an order.

On the whole I see Hashtag's find to be a positive, just not sure to what degree!

Interesting thought that the trial might be NHS funded. Hopefully so, but would they already spend NHS money to test kit that is not yet approved for UK sales?

Hmm. Do we not already know the technology works and has high sensitivity and specificity? The technology is MHRA approved so I'm wondering why this study is underway at a time when the company is seeking approval to sell in the UK,?

As Sanibel has vorrectly stated FP2 or FP3 masks are not designed for long duration applications and become uncomfortable so quickly that few people would wear them on an everyday basis unless it was required in a eork environment. The mail is correct to say that a standard surgical mask is not as well fitting but they are not designed to be. The protection is not for the wearer rather it is for those sharing a space with the wearer. Worn properly, a pro larva mask should be highly effective at reducing the viral load exhaled by an infected user. From a practical perspective it is a significant upgrade on a conventional mask and has the major advantage of being tolerable for longer duration applications such as in classrooms, on public transport etc.

Waste is mentioned in the tweets because disposal of potentially contaminated masks/gowns etc costs money. They don t just throw them in the bin so the council can collect them.

It is also a useful way to highlight the longer service life which also helps justify a higher cost.

I have no idea why people expect an RNS related to sales or commercials today. The Nov corporate explicitly states that commercial launch is expected early 2022. If the price drops again it will be due to selling by panic merchants that have not even read the information provided to them by Genedrive.

Now we have CE marking I am hoping timelines might be shortened and we get an ouncement pre Xmas but I don't expect one before January.

The Exeter device is at least a year away. Genedrive will be an established commercial option long before that.

Absolutely no reason to be expecting an RNS on any particular date. Anyone selling because they expected one today should realise they are doing so based on nothing. Speculation isn't a good investment strategy.

An RNS will come when negotiations are finalised and contracts have been prepared by legal teams of at least two organisations. It takes time. Patience is needed.

In small technology companies it isn't unusual for sales and marketing roles to be combined. I also think the market pull for the product will be intensifying by the day due to omicron transmission rates. If they don't make sales under the current climate the personal credibilities of the board will be severely dented to the point of being career limiting.

It's just down to timing now but speed to market is very important. Hopeful we will get a nice RNS sometime in the next 2 weeks but that is purely intuitive. No reason why it should be tomorrow.

We know GDR are in active discussions with potential partners/customers and the test is under evaluation by them. Most importantly though is the fact that Omicron has changed the market pull dramatically. Only a few weeks ago nobody had heard of it. Now the need for a rapid poc test is greater than ever. The potential in, for example, the health, travel and labour intensive industries is huge. Speed to market is always critical and the board will know that all too well. They have a head start this time, if they don't capitalise I suspect it will be career limiting for the entire board.

Good post Mark. I have also worked in new product development and agree that a bit of patience makes sense here. Contracts are contingent on many factors being met. I have personal experience of final contracts being delayed by daft things like the availability of someone from legal dept to approve the final contract draft! It is rarely as straightforward or simple as some in here imagine. CE marking would indicate to me that contract discussions are underway and probably at an advanced stage. The corporate messaging from a few months ago suggested contracts were expected early 2022. Given the pressing need for this product and the enormous market potential I would hope it's a case of all hands to the pumps right now to expedite commercialisation. I'm hopeful of something materialising before Xmas. I'd be disappointed but not surprised if it is into Jan. Folks shoul remember the timing of a contract signature is dependant on at least two parties.

There is a distinct possibility that the ancillary equipment currently being installed will see the benchmark production level of 800tpd comfortably exceeded in a matter of weeks. I would not be surprised if they are awaiting debottlenecking in order to announce enhanced production guidance figures.
