Surely an element of smugness here?
I’m so relieved that InvestDirect wouldn’t let me buy this morning. It would have been more money down the drain - falling knife and so on.
When the sp hits bottom, wherever that is, will be the time to buy.
It’s hardly surprising that it’s 20% down WHEN YOU’RE BLOCKED FROM BUYING!! IT’S CURRENTLY A FALSE MARKET!
I still can’t buy via HSBC. All other platforms the same?
Just noticed that they give a ‘sell’ price only. So, you can sell but not buy. Something fishy here?!
I tried to buy via HSBC InvestDirect. Both my accounts say that PMO is unavailable via this service - even though they give an sp.
what’s going on? I hold 201000 shares In pmo, all bought via InvestDirect, so the reason given is nonsense
Not exactly a great day so far, to put it mildly. But the market always over reacts in the short term. Too late to sell. Better to hold and wait, imo.
Lenin, your posts at 22.10 and 04.09 seem mutually incompatible, even contradictory. What’s your conclusion - slower rise than expected, or much faster back to 100p+? It can’t be both.
A bit Motley Fool’ish (not a compliment).
I get real pleasure in seeing the ‘This message has been filtered...’ sign. It would be a kindness if someone alerted me that poor DBNO had posted a ramping note on PMO. But I am not holding my breath.
Or thinks ‘what’s that smell’?
‘.....seeing a beautiful chick ‘.....she looks at you’. And says ‘cheap, cheap cheap’?
I happily have him on filter. I don’t need to read his posts to know with some confidence their unvarying drift.
Brent spot rising steadily, now comfortably above $43. About due a blue day?
I know the current market disruption is very uncomfortable - it certainly is for me. But: the world is not coming to an end. The market will return to equilibrium sooner or later.
For one thing, spot Brent is back at just over $43. So cheer up.
Significant that the market shrugs off this week’s API and EIA reports.
Onward and upward, apparently.
Oh, dear. Is that the best you can do? Pathetic.
Let’s not forget deaths from overdoses of opioids: at least 70% of deaths from drug overdoses. It’s huge - and a scandal.
Death toll in US yesterday above 1,000, for the first time since May. Even Trump acknowledges ‘It will probably, unfortunately, get worse before it gets better - Something I don’t like saying about things but that’s the way it is’.
Slogans such as ‘live free or die’ definitely don’t help.
Alpha,
You have all my sympathy. But anyone interested in the election issue should go to fivethirtyeight.com (which has a great deal of expert analysis on the various polls), politico.com or thehill.com: any or all are preferable to some of the bluster on this bb.
But don’t rule out Wag the Dog style events. DJT is a master of distraction tactics and at escalation: techniques he learned as a young man from the vile Roy Cohn
Lemonade,
Biden hasn’t done any rallies. As the same sentence of your post makes clear, hr’s in lockdown.
Trump’s own Tulsa rally was a fiasco. Not surprising that Biden has a handsome lead in every single swing state.
I hold no brief for Biden. It’s an indictment of the current state of American democracy that the Democrats are fielding a 77 year old. But the orange atds narcissist has been well and truly rumbled and that’s why we have Republican dissidents such as the Lincoln Project, and why many former Trump sycophants are deserting the sinking ship.
However, Trump must feel pleased still to have someone of your quality in his corner.
