Ex.... thing about crossing the doldrums is that you can use the tides and currents to make some progress , but if that is not enough you could try turning on the engine !!
It may be slow going but eventually you'll pickup a good "sou'wester" and with full canvas and a good rate of knots you'll soon be back on course !! :-))
As for being brave.... stocks & shares are a doddle compared to the North Atlantic in winter !!!!
