With the UK governments on the cusp of relaxing most of the restrictions we have the following report from WHO:

The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified the coronavirus variant first found in India last year as a "variant of global concern". It said preliminary studies show the B.1.617 mutation spreads more easily than other variants and requires further study. The variant has already spread to more than 30 countries, the WHO says.

Talk about playing the fiddle ... I just cannot comprehend such incompetence.

Since gifting and inheritance tax are complex issues, I think such things would be best left to a tax adviser. If you finally get into that league it would be worth investing in the services of one ... But it is nice to dream ........ ;0)

Philbro that's tragic. Sorry to hear of your loss. I too would like to pay off my kid's mortgages but don't want to give the taxman a happy time with gift tax. Guess I would need a good tax adviser at that stage. GLA

Covid is not going to disappear and if world governments continue with their strive towards"normality" things will get worse not better. Now is not the time to lower ones guard.
