Predator Oil & Gas hit by profit-taking following strong well result. There is an old stock market adage/cliche that it's better to travel than arrive.

This was the case for Predator Oil & Gas Holdings PLC (LSE:PRD), whose shares tumbled 22% to 4.02p on Monday as investors used the latest well update as a chance to take profits.

The company delivered promising drilling results from its MOU-5 well in Morocco, confirming its pre-drill play concept and uncovering an unexpected 30-metre sand interval that had never been seen in the Guercif Basin before.

MOU-5 hit the Domerian carbonate target deeper than expected due to mobilised salt, which could enhance the top seal—a crucial factor in trapping hydrocarbons. A helium show was also detected, adding a potential new exploration angle.

The well has been suspended for future re-entry, while Predator now plans to run 3D seismic surveys and seek a farm-out partner to help fund the next stage of exploration.

CEO Paul Griffiths called the results a “game-changer” and is confident the findings will attract new investment. Meanwhile, Predator is also focusing on boosting production in Trinidad and advancing its MOU-3 gas project.

Despite the sell-off, the company insists the latest results are a major step forward, with further updates expected as data is analysed and plans take shape

I'm really not sure what people expected. All the above statements are encouraging. Ramping up Trinidad was always a clue as to the time scale required. I look forward to a more in-depth review of the data.

If Predator have already found another 8 target areas within their licence, an area 70 times the size of Greater London, then the question is not if, but when, they will find gas and maybe helium and oil.

Mou-1, 3, and 4 all showed gas in the logs.

PG and his engineer both stated that there is gas in Mou-3 and with correct swabbing it can flow.

Mou-5 drill has used all the information gathered, including Mou-2, to drill in a position that is potentially life changing.

Mou-6 is a continuation of proving up the gas.

We sit on an asset that PG has known about for years. I believe in him.

The big problem has been to prove up this asset without running out of money or being subjected to a hostile takeover.

To date he has done amazing well with the finances and not conceded an inch to any possible sharks. Not always popular but always in the best long term interests of the company.

He has added a safety net with Trinidad that is vitally important in the event of deemed failures.

Ireland is also an excellent addition asset. It may or may not end up in our favour but full marke for keeping it alive.

Patience, finance, and determination was key. He knows what the potential is.

Our time is near and remember Mou-5 is just one well in the continental development of our Moroccan asset. Hopefully it will give the results we all hope for.

Success builds success and with that the finance to develop and options to start an end game.

It is not necessarily the, "Blow the doors off moment" yet, however with positive news, the Predator bandwagon will start rolling, along with the share price.

There is still a lot of work to be done to get to the end game.

PG is working hard behind the scenes and knows what he needs.

Time scale for news:

Predator have said they want to start up an CNG operation as soon as possible. Is it dependant of testing ? If so, it won't be until we have the explosives on site and use the larger peroration guns as opposed to the sand jet method. If so, then is likely to take a few more months before we actually, know what gas and possibility helium we have in Mou-5 and 3 and if we can successfully make both the wells flow.

Can a deal be struck, just on the log results and are we likely to be notified once the logs results have been analysis and approved or will we have to wait for the completion of the testing?

Predator have informed us before once the drills were completed so I'm hoping to be notified soon on a successful drill and log results.

This will start share price movement.

I'd appreciate any feedback on timings and views on moving forward.

Question:

Do we believe that we can get a commercial amount of gas out of our Moroccan asset?

If we can achieve that, will this share re-rate?

Just got an email from Flagstaff.

Nice photo of the general drill site. Lots of water in the corner of the photo. No other information.

Things are moving forward.

Bottom line is for us to prove up a commercial amount of gas and maybe helium.

If we can do that on just Mou-3 and 5 then Predator will be able to showcase our asset. Plus make a deal.

If there’s gas in just in just these 2 wells then the question arises of what is the likelihood of the rest of the sands being gas rich ?

Interesting times ahead.

Mou-1 was misunderstood but there is gas there.

Mou-2 was not finished but we did find a massive mud seal ( potential, or not of a large seal trapping massive amounts of gas)

Mou-3 logs show gas. This was confirmed but Pg and his engineer. But not flowing due to well issues. The engineer confirms that the gas can flow with the correct swabbing procedure.

Management have decided to go for the Mou-3 shallow sands first. This is being done to set up a potential CNG business. I'm pretty sure that a deal has been negotiated. Swabbing was considered more risky than finishing off the shallow sands area. It makes the original mou-3 gas harder to get flowing, but knowing the gas it there, Predator will be in a position to deal with the problem in many ways. Just a cost issue.

Hence the need to get that financial ball rolling. To sum up, we have found gas.

Mou-4 logs show gas. This has helped with the mapping of the general area. This information helped with the positioning of Mou-5.

Mou-5 is a combination of all the information gathered while drilling the first 4 wells. The position of this well is to hit "the sweet spot or spots." This will also include the possibility of finding helium.

Mou-6 is a continuation of the gathered knowledge.

Every well has shown a gas potential. It's why the vast majority of lth on here are still holding. We are not fools and we rightly criticise. However we see a massive potential in Morocco. The gas is there and now it's becoming a numbers game. Drill enough wells using the knowledge gain and the chances of success becomes greater.

The big problem for small companies like Predator is running out of funds before getting to the position where they can get the gas out. Big companies would swallow us whole and we would get screwed. Paul has kept us debt free and has pushed forward with Trinidad as a means of additional funding. This is vitality important as an additional safety net for Morocco. Keeping Ireland going through all the Ryan years also shows massive commitment.

Just a though, knowing Paul's hatred of MM's and clearly seeing all that is currently happening, I wander what action he could take once he knows his hand is strong?

Morocco:

A successful Mou-5 will quickly re-rate.

But around 4 weeks to wait.

Are we expecting the rig to go to Mou-3 shallow sands next ?

Will we then have to wait for all testing to be finished before we get notification of what they have discovered?

If successful then expect a deal to be struck to sell some gas.

Ireland:

Great news today and let’s see if they can used our Mag Mell option. We are a small company but we do have powerful friends that will push hard on their and our behalf. Nothing is certain but today’s news is encouraging.

Trinidad:

Oil is starring to flow and with cost cutting and revisiting wells we should start to see a profit this year.

I see no negative’s today ( other than history) with where we are as a company at this point in time. We are drilling a well with massive potential. We can all drone on about failed timescales etc. but for me, Predator are about to prove their worth. It’s a risk but one I have waited for.
