After yesterdays orgy of anti CWU comments, I would just like to say shares can go down as well as up. Oh and by the way the CWU are still alive and kicking and invites have been sent to shareholders to explain how this union can manage and make this company more profitable with its ideas of running the company. We aint going nowhere.

Incorrect it is 200 mind you if the decision tomorrow goes the CWU way which I very much doubt then we will be abated £3 for each day of strike action but well worth it mind you

And therein lies the answer. You see now the differential in this dispute and the absurdity of Ricos proposal and why now the CWU want to explain their idea to the shareholders. Yes it is not without its complications that is for sure but we know we are better and more professional than both Hermes and definitely Yodel. That work is waiting for us and we have an agreement which allows us to deal with this. The minutae is all that would separate us and if Rico sees sense then we get an agreement call of the strike ballot and get back on track.

The competitors do it we can too but that window needs to be opened shrinking the delivery window in the way proposed is utter madness. If you want to go after the competition you have to broaden horizons not shrink them. For example Hermes parcel delivery because they are now at peak already staff were told not to go to the depots to load until 1130. We can do much better than that and grab that work

Okay for clarity. So what Rico wants to do is shrink the business in a way which will completely threaten the network that exists at present. That happens to be a fact and I think we can all agree on that. We had an agreement and actually still do with Royal Mail called the agenda for growth. This agreement was a joint agreement whereby both sides would openly look to grow the business. So Rico has a plan which will mean that we go up the path twice in a day it is logistical madness when we have 66,000 workers ready to carry out that work spread across the whole kingdom. Key to Rico's proposal is to deliver parcels later as we know. Key to the CWU's proposal is to open that delivery window up between 7am and 7pm. and look to deliver at weekends, something which trialled in London. You don't grow a company by closing the delivery window and going up the path twice when it is completely unnecessary its economic madness

The CWU plan is not a big secret its been mentioned on many occasions. I will let you all research it it is easy enough to find if you look.

Should the appeal be successful and it is very unlikely I agree, then any IA will be held the weekend of peak posting 12 13 14 15 of December. Secondly, what you do need to give credence to is the fact that the Union have been approached by some of the biggest shareholders for discussion. This was prior to any of the invites going out this week to other major shareholders. Now I am sure that such news will be met with the usual responses, but this is something you really need to think about. If the CWU plan that they will present to the shareholders is accepted to be a better plan that Rico's, will you welcome it? And is this the end for Rico and Co?

I have absolutely no doubt that the CWU will be unsuccessful in the appeal at the High Court. The system doesn't work for workers never has and never will but that means nothing in reality with regard to our dispute so I wont be at all disappointed if it goes against the CWU. We will continue unabated

From my sources if Rico is not directly involved in these talks then they wont take place anyway. He cannot hide away forever

So modernisation of delivery methods new PDA's Parcel Automation revision activity of delivery routes to name but a few but we are resistant to change. Actually we are not we are resistant to change forced on us and not agreed with the CWU that is the subtle difference the Royal Mail know that they cannot move forward without the agreement of the CWU

Royal Mail wanted to a joint meeting but they were told to jog on they have had their opportunity.
