Ringo no I am not if you have the virus and you are delivering mail to an address and also taking the D2D how does that make a difference? You still have the virus no matter what you are delivering and If you are delivering D2D as a warm call I cannot see the issue seriously I can't.

@Derek So the way to minimise that is to deliver to the house you have mail for Monday to Friday and the remainder on Saturday. This has been tested during the D2D trials and roughly you end up with less than 5% of delivery points on some walks they only had a couple of delivery points and some had none at all. It is about risk reduction.

I think we are just going to have to agree to differ on this one. I get your answer but it is a little illogical to me if you are outing mail through a door and one of them is D2D item/s which arrive in an office prior to Monday how could they be infected given the virus does not last long on paper?

From a personal point of view i don't have a problem with it. If you have to go to an address where exactly is the harm? I cannot see it myself and it makes sense. Secondly we have millions of people self isolating the shops are still bare although getting better very slowly and people have to eat. Granted some of the stuff is not relevant i will give you that.

The employer has the responsibility to its employees they are not doing that. Terry was clear if you think you are being put in danger refuse to do it. We have offices where postal workers are not taking deliveries out because they have no protection they are staying indoors. The same is happen ing in mail centres and other units and ots over to Royal Mail its their move. So don't just give it the big one about the CWU they are there to make representation to the employer it is for the employer to act. My contribution is if we have to deliver them then we go to the houses that we have mail for first the remainder which would be minimal could be delivered Friday Saturday. I wish you would keep up. No not when it comes to Safety there are not two sides. The employer has a duty of care to keep all of its staff safe under the ACT and Regulations it is prescriptive not open to debate. They are not doing it and it is an utter disgrace, you see you don't work in the industry so you really have no idea what is going on. Its not an entrenched view something you keep using because you know I am right and you have no answer, it is a fact.

@JB Please let me retort. You see its like this when a Representative of the CWU goes into a meeting with management. Do you think that when they ask management to do something the management just go yeah that's fine no problem !! You see it doesnt work like that it is always a battle and we are seeing first hand the differences. RM have done nothing they have been forced into making changes. If there was not a union then nothing would change trust me on that because deep down they really don't care and that is the truth. Any managers who do care are too scared to do anything for fear of getting it in the hoop. So the CWU this week have told its members if the employer does not act then we will do it ourselves. We will refuse to work in groups that are not 2 metres apart we will not put ourselves at any greater risk than we need to face because of an employer who does not care.
