I can see the opportunities here for a US based bank. Undoubtedly, the looming fines are weighing on the SP The IB is consistently under performing and Staley seems reluctant to deal with it. The advantages to a US based bank to integrate the IB into a US operation must be substantial, given Trumps tax regime. This would leave the retail banking operation available to be separated in a UK post Brexit world, or for a US bank to benefit from a substantial presence in a growing UK housing market. Staley not separating off a failing IB could be his downfall. Unless of course he is hoping to eventually end up back in America !

I am hearing that the vote to approve the pension changes, has been approved. I would anticipate that this will provide an uptick to the SP ?

LOL LLoyds aren't doing much better to be honest. Shareholders hoping for a massive buy back to improve the SP. I hold LLoyds also btw. It would have to be substantial to make any difference and we can only hope. Kind of range bound , as is BARC.

Long , long way off kassam. I would like to think that this quarter will be different from others , with positive news and a hike in the divi BUT I feel it is just going to be more of the same. usual build up to announcement day , then fall in price due to disappointed investors. Staley and Mcfarlane really haven't delivered. Mcfarlane has been abysmal IMO. Everyone was expecting and hoping Staley to initiate a quick fix (if possible) , with a potential sell off , of the IB. Instead, we have had more of the same with, sadly more escalating fines. Someone needs to put all of this to bed and move forwards. I don't see Mcfarlane and staley doing that . Just my view though. Hopefully they will prove me to be wrong
