Thanks mate. This was 24 years ago now. He battled through 16 years of treatment, 4 surgeries and beat all the odds. They said he would live 11 hours from his first surgery and we never expected him to reawake after a 12 hour surgery at 9 months old. Then he had 3% chance of reaching 2 years old when he did They said he would never walk or talk but one day he did! Amazing I still remember running for the massive video camera we had to film him toddling!
The cancer return 3 times over the years and each time they took a little one good brain away :(
The last time they said nothing more can be done and to do palitive care but I never gave up and found a surgeon from Belgium wrote to him with scans and he said he would try one last time to save his life and he did!
My son finally got all clear at 17 years old. He's now 25. He's disabled and he will never live alone He's with us for life but what a young man he is strong as an ox and determined as stubborn mule..
Me and the wife kinda lost our 20s being in hospitals around the world with him and looking back I don't know where we got the strength from tbh but shows how tough us humans can be hey.

Being on many cancer wards around the UK over the years with my son and his battle with the big C opens up ones eyes indeed. Kids are so tough tbh..
Wish us all health as even with money without health its nothing.

I remember and still hurts when my dad passed away 4.5 years ago at age 70 and I was away abroad spoke to Jim night before then in morning had a call from my mum saying dad's had massive brain hemorrhage and he was on life support but his brain stem was dead and was already gone and I rushed back to UK to say goodbye before we turned off his life support machine.. watching his heart stop was an experience I will never forget and up there with when my 9 month old son 24 years ago was diagnosed with brain cancer...
Bloody life is hard..

Summer touring UK sounds good too.
I live near Tenby and summers in Pembrokeshire is a great place to be! There are some world beating beaches here
I love Barafundle Bay myself most of all but there so many stunning places here when the sun shines in summer there's not much a better place to be.

Yes it's really down to personal preference. I like fuerteventura but just prefer Lanza but as you it's personal taste that's all.
Retiring and spending time in either sounds great mate! Enjoy your time over there. I have a place in Andalusia and would love to retire to somewhere warm and sunny at some point but only just 47 yet. One day maybe.

Agreed on things to see on Lanza rather than fuerteventura.
Public transport if not hiring a car also is great but having a car is best as its easy to to get about and see the diverse parts of the island.

Great weather and such a relaxed time. I stayed I PDC smd PB for the whole time.

There's the costal path at playa blanca and all the reports tbh so you can walk for miles yes. If you not been then its quite different to the other islands tbh.
Fuerteventura and lanza are more windy but in winter this usually drops quite alot tbh.
The North of Lanza say Arrieta etc is generally more cloudy than the South like PB etc.
Papagayo beaches in Playa blanca are beautifull too.
You normally get a temp from websites that give general temp on Lanza but tbh when I sm on the island and travel north to South or even say Costa tequise to planca the temp rises 2 or 3 degrees and wind is much less than in resorts like Costa teguise etc too.
I been to all canary islands bar the little one at top of lanza La graciosa which is stunning viewpoint called mirador del rio up past orzola in lanza well worth a trip to view:))
I would say give one of the other islands like Fuerteventura or Lanza ago I am sure you won't regret it.

Been going to Lanzarote for 25 years.
Been spending December there incl Xmas for last 6/7 years
Playa blanca I normally go and its best part of island for the sunshine and less wind.
It's normally a little warmer than Tenerife south tbh
I prefer Lanza to Tenerife but it depends on what you want?
Lanza is more laid back
If you want a strip that's long and busy Puerto Del carmen is best in Lanza but if you want a more upmarket feel than playa blanca is the place.
Lanza is IMHO the best place and never had a bad holiday over there.. love the place..

Keto

Yes agreed keto and all other diet tools are good when used in small portions but it's the long term stuff that is IMHO mot right to keep with this diet.
I used to be 18 stone when in my 20s owned my own gym and was avid bodybuilder ate like horse and the more I weighed the better in off season/bulking long as my weights were increasing snd not putting too much bodtfay on etc but then when required I would use tools available like keto to trim quickly and then load uo on carbs just before shows etc
Iys using the tools we have that is great but not keeping on these diets long term that's the unhealthy part.
I am now 47 and suffered a accident while working as hgv driver in 2006 which left me with spinal cord damage at c5 to c7 level and 3 ops on my back too etc so I couldn't Train the big moves and weights like squats and deadlines etc and being part of the 500 club (3 lifts 500kg plus) was gone forever:( and when my muscle started to go I didn't eat well and over ate calories to what I required as the engine (my muscle mass) was much less etc. Now I still train but differently and weight 13st in shape but still us difficult for me not to train to extreme as that's what I was all about.
Like everything knowledge is power and that rubs true in fitness and health etc..
