It will be interesting to see if they do dump their position now, or retain it, with a view to returning to the table in 12 months or so (whenever the window to do so reopens).

Having rejoined VLX after this announcement, I am hoping for the former scenario.

Anyway, now we will see if the BOD here can justify their decision. IMO they have a year at best to prove it.

But before then, some hefty inside buying would be the only thing to potentially tempt me back in this name.

Or a significant sell off, back to the previous low perhaps, for another possible trade.

I agree with you CC - a JV with a free carry, is the only commercially sensible path to take, given the financial position of the company.

I would also say the same for Dundas and any of the other assets they have, quite frankly.

An outright sale for one or more would be better IMO - but that is predicated on there actually being some interest in said assets.

Until such a time as they achieve something like that, then I think the market is going to continue to lack any faith or trust in them and the business as a whole.

Same for shorters. Those who spread lies or misinformation (long or short) do deserve to be called out for it, but as I always say, ultimately a company succeeds or fails due to the management. That is where the buck stops. Every time. GLA.

Depends on how many warrants you are talking about I guess. Risk management parameters to consider as well, if one or more of those investors have a large percentage of their p/f in this name for example etc.

Could be a chunk of those 5p raised ones as well.

On technicals, I suspect we are going to have a revisit of the 50 and probably 200 DMA at some point. Short of any material news in the coming weeks anyway.

Could be some others feel similarly and want to lock in some gains, to buy them back at those lower prices, if they hit.

I would have done that myself, had this been a big holding for me. Add, slice etc is sensible financial management, especially in relation to AIM. To my mind anyway.

I would never rule anything out, especially on AIM, but we have 295 million shares in issue here. Less if you count those in sticky hands. Not a huge amount of room to play that game IMO.

If the BOD delivers (which IMO so far they have, with the one big outstanding question mark being over what they do with Songwe), then no reason why this price action will not become a distant memory at some point.

As I said fairly recently, it is the Songwe topic that is restricting some proper price discovery here. I really do think that.

I too am curious about the buy back situation...but you must have missed the £99K CEO purchase in late November.

While it would have been good to see more insiders buying shares, this is a respectable purchase IMO.

It has had a quick run from 80p. IMO, this is simply a healthy pull back. No unusual trading volume that I can see either.

If we do not close back above the 200 DMA (101.34p) before the close (same for tomorrow) then we might revisit 97p. Maybe 95p-ish even.

As to obtaining finance without resorting to further placings or asset sales: this is an extremely challenging credit environment. Even for established and mature entities.

Never say never I guess, but probably best not to set high hopes for it, IMO.

CC: dialogue with AIM BOD's is really not worth the paper it is not written on. As a general rule of thumb.

But as far as this name goes, and the same as was the case about/more than a year ago, when I remember some dialogue with Ashton and others on this topic...the proof in the pudding is in the eating.

Where are those asset sales? It was about this time last year when a couple of posters listed their opinions on the various sale values of XYZ assets here. Collectively hundreds of millions, from memory!

Well, they also need to be mindful of the potential for a takeover. While the short interest is not as high as over at WBA, if that goes ahead, then some shorts are going to get margin called, IMO.

No change in disclosed short levels again today. About half of these were built up from October onwards, meaning that those ones will currently be underwater now.

I would be surprised if they did not start covering if/when we get back to the 110-115p range, if not sooner.

We have had a good couple of weeks, but we might still have plenty left in the tank.

Not sure why the shorts are still here, when there are plenty of other stocks that seem a far better bet, from that perspective, but time will tell.
