I am not sure they have much road left to do yet another raise.

The last couple have been pretty ruinous to LTH's as it is.

If they actually have anything of worth (and the jury is still out on that, IMO) then someone could buy it up for peanuts after shareholders have been wiped out.

Have not looked at the latest on 4D or RENE, but the above scenario on those names would not surprise me. Then again, I am a suspicious fellow. Perhaps their IP is simply worth zero.

Will this one join those 'illustrious' names? You still have a good few months at least, based on the last update, to find out.

802p - 804p is the next real test, IMO. I do not think we will struggle with 780p on the next go.

That term 'bond vigilante' really does not sit well with me (obviously I know you are only quoting the accepted phrase, so not having a pop at you).

Responsible government (and central bank) behaviour would render them, not the 'smart money', in control of the narrative, when it comes to the debt market.

At least the US has the comfort blanket (for now) of being the global reserve currency. While the rest of us in the West, are even more vulnerable to the failures of our 'leaders'.

Leaders, who have not done what the voters have asked for, or expected, for decades now. So that is one constant.

But we get the leaders we deserve...

These days, the market responds to central bank stimulus. Like the druggie needing an ever greater amount to achieve a similar high. Albeit for shorter and shorter periods, as the tolerance levels rise.

Even China seems to have started doing this stuff now.

Shiller is but one of a number of potential indicators that are flashing red. Guess what? A lot of these were flashing red last year. And the year before.

As my posting history shows, I have a pretty pessimistic outlook for the longer term; I simply cannot see how so many big things, like global debt, geopolitical tensions, etc, cannot lead to a 'come to Jesus' moment, as our American friends like to say. Sooner or later.

But it really does not pay to base your trading, or to a point, longer term investment thesis, on such big picture things.

Being too early, is the same as being wrong. Even if you are ultimately right.

I generally agree with the sentiments of Peter Schiff, for example.

But I have made a lot more money trading a number of stocks, including PM miners, than had I simply HODL'ed.

And anyone who listened to him regarding Bitcoin for example, taking his advice to sell at various points since as far back as I can remember, will have watched huge potential gains being enjoyed by someone else.

Not me. I fundamentally agree with his premise on cryptos. But even if he is proven to be right in the long term, well, tell that to people who sold at 10K a couple of years ago. Or at any point where they took a loss before the most recent high.

The only reason I did not buy some was because I could not figure out a potential value, and therefore a potential sell price.

I still cannot. Many people far smarter than me simply cannot agree on this stuff either.

So, I still believe it is a greater fool play, but the greatest fool might yet pay 250K, or even a million a pop, for one line of digital code that does....nothing.

Anyone who ends up with a net profit from that game will simply not care.

And that is fair enough.

Meh. We have been overdue a serious stock market correction, if not an outright collapse, for years now.

It will happen sooner or later, but who knows if 2025 will be the year?

If you believe (as I do) that the stock market is not the real world, then in spite of the many macro problems, I would not be surprised to see a new ATH before the end of 2025, albeit with a normal correction of one degree or another, at some point during the year, before the next leg up.

Caveat that with if the central banks stop interfering. Something that they have not chosen to do since 2008 and QE1.

But say they do....hello economic depression. AIMO and we are unlikely to find out. GLA.

Got plenty of losses under my belt. Never try to hide them. So far, have only booked profits with JD. Confident that this record will continue with this name sooner or later, but the stock market gods call the shots. I just try to win more than I lose.

So many potential market moving events, who knows what the next week or so will being? Let alone the next 12 months.

DXY looks like it might be forming a H&S, although not confirmed yet. Oil looks like it is putting in lower lows and lower highs, but geopolitical stuff could sharply reverse the current trend. More key economic data next week, as well.

That is the key thing. Well, profitability. Not bothered about revenue increases, unless it is matched by an increase in profit. Revenue vanity, profit sanity maxim.

It is IMO one of the potential risks of DG, who are also increasing their store numbers. But like CARD, I am cautiously optimistic that they will do OK in the years ahead. Fingers crossed for both, as far as I am concerned! GLA.

To be fair, if they offered enough, I am sure few of us would care as to the potential commercial fit or otherwise of such a deal :)

Yeah, diversification is the charm for JD, IMO.

That was one of the reasons why I was surprised when some poster the other day pondered whether we might be an attractive acquisition target for Nike.

I cannot see how that would be a good fit. But as I do not think there is any chance of it happening, it is a moot point.

I also agree that this should re-rate in time, as long as the management do the business.

And that chunky 90p insider purchase is why I retook a few for the longer term pot.

I did not add to my JD yesterday. Pending key data from across the Pond, combined with not generally liking to buy on a Friday, led to this decision.

Throw in the historically weak month of February (index-wide), and IMO caution was the right approach.

Well, the technicals for the silver chart looks to me like it is more likely to break to the upside than down at the time of print, but this is silver, so a bit of a free spirit that likes to keep you on your toes :) GLA.

Yeah. I added a few this morning with similar thinking.

Still a small position, so likely to just keep what I have tucked away, until we get an offer, or we see some material improvement in the SP.

If it continues to retrace, I will likely add on the way down until I have enough to make some slices economically worthwhile. All being well and taking nothing for granted. GLA.

I agree that AOP is likely going to get a decent return here. Where our opinions probably differ, is what sort of returns the small, and especially LTH's, are going to see.
