IMO we are just running out of road. Heavily (downward) revised earnings estimates narrowly beaten or even missed. Inflation still untamed. Debt burdens growing. Geopolitical conflict growing. But we should probably stop there. Otherwise, when the next market crash happens, it will be we small PI's that will be named and blamed exclusively for the entire collapse :)

Speculation that FRC will be the next shoe to drop, as our friends across the drink like to say? Regardless, if anyone thinks the banking issues are fully resolved, I have a nice bridge to sell you... :)

I had no idea how the market would take the news today. The deal was such a dog for LTH's that I guess by dumping it, many of us think a better alternative is in the pipeline. Certainly hope so - but unless the new boss purchases a big chunk of stock from his own pocket, I am not adding to my holding. He should take a leaf out of the book of the CEO of MKA IMO. Hopefully that one will deliver for shareholders before too long too. I have a lot more JAY though, so really hope all these well paid, long-standing BODs here end up justifying the faith and not inconsiderable investment. Different to Rod I really hope anyway. GLA.

I think I am more cynical than you are, Vascular. I would be surprised if it was not simply a means of extracting more cash from companies, under the veneer of improving governance. I would be even more surprised if it yielded more money for the wider local population, rather than the usual beneficiaries. But I would be delighted to be proved wrong, as in the fullness of time, perhaps I will be, on this occasion anyway.
I am unlikely to stick around that long though, unless we get the green light PDQ, because a sensible default position to take when doing business in Africa is one of high alert and deep suspicion. IMO naturally.

Fair points, Quickdip. I personally saw nothing in the financial statements when researching stuff here to put me off.

Paddyboy1: No, but the cost of borrowing has ballooned in the past year, and the markets are not pricing in rate cuts yet either. Nor should they, IMO. Nobody should discount company debt levels for the foreseeable future potentially - but even allowing for that, I like this company at this price.

Took a small opening position here today. Apart from the debt pile, lots to like, IMO. Would be delighted if it did become a t/o target, but as things stand, happy to hold for the longer term and collect the dividend while the business hopefully delivers on debt reduction plans. GLA.

I would imagine that if the MOD is in breach of contract, then arbitration will rule in Babs' favour. If the company does lose, I am not sure it would be wise to further pursue the MOD on this matter, but anyway, better to wait and see how the arbitration goes before looking further ahead IMO.

No idea. I had initially decided to wait for the outcome of the vote and then take a view. Then, after further reflection, I simply could not see a realistic scenario occurring where I would want to continue being a shareholder here. Hence I sold.

I voted no and have now sold all but a few left in a trading account, which I will dump for a tax loss at some point. The historical management failures and that of the current BOD IMO as well...to put it politely, means I personally trust them less than I do a politician. That deal is simply too opaque. Again, to put it politely. I do not trust any of them. Good luck to those of you who feel differently and also well done to those of you who are going to be profitable here regardless of whether the deal goes ahead or not. I only wish my own average was so low!

The 4D funding debacle came to my mind too, Porky. At least those clowns lost a few quid of their own cash in that disappointing result I suppose. Hope they end up getting investigated one day, as that one stunk too.

I have seen some dubious stuff on AIM, but this one is right up there IMO. Unless BOD are going to issue an RNS later today showing significant inside purchases, then the authorities should be all over this company. Even then quite frankly. Highly, highly suspicious activity these past few months, leading up to today's RNS some might conclude.

crumbs: I would absolutely expect funding options to be ready to go if/when we finally get approval. All but putting pen to paper should have long since been provisionally agreed IMO.

IMO investor appetite would be increased with a lower tax and lower regulatory environment, Brexit or no Brexit, but the clowns in charge have turned us into a semi failed state. As much as it pains me to say it. Hopefully this will be transitory and then UK investments will pay off, just like they often do when you invest in an emerging economy over time. IMO things are going to get worse before they get better, as I have alluded to previously. Strong political leadership would be welcome, but in the absence of that, we are just going to have to grit teeth and muddle through.

No market faith whatsoever and IMO it will take time now - even with cold, hard, strong numbers - to achieve that figure. Let alone a SP that some of us bag holders are stuck with and the kind of SP which SOH alluded to in prior jam tomorrow chats.

Now the buy backs are finished, we shall see where we stand. Took the plunge and bought some SCHW today. Solid update I thought. Hoping it will be a nice trade, but prepared for it to be an investment if I am wrong :) Bit like my current BARC holding I guess. GLA.

You made a wiser decision than I did Keith. First purchase here was around that time too, but I put misplaced trust in Rod and the other lifestyle directors, and the rest is history I guess. Dundas was what initially attracted me though. I thought it would be sold too and then the proceeds put to work drilling Disko and some of the other sites. I have not bought any more since the kitchen sink RNS. Would have, if the new boss had put his hand in his own pocket. This is now a rule for me when it comes to AIM stocks - I will not invest anything if no inside buying occurs. I guess that would not have saved me here, as Rod and Bo bought a few in the past - but typically IMO it is a sensible approach to take.
Anyway, I hope your renewed interest here is proven to be wise! Do you have a target price in mind? While previous BOD failures (whether through dishonesty or incompetence, who can tell, apart from themselves?) means I now have considerably lower expectations than I once had, at this point, I still think I might yet come out with a small profit in the end. Either way, sticking around to see the various drill results now. GLA.

FRES is pretty opaque, to say the least. Probably in part explains why it often moves in a contrary direction to what you would expect. The low free float is why you get such regular volatility. No idea if the 50 USD silver thesis will play out. Have been invested here and other PM miners long enough to take that proclamation with a pinch of salt. More to do with the market manipulation of the paper price, rather than a criticism of those bulls, most of whom are not being willful rampers IMO. Anyway, I would be happy to see us return to year highs. Then I can offload a few again with a view to being able to hopefully reload lower and continue to reduce my core holding average. IMO this is not one to simply buy and hold...as konan would probably agree with.
