Stupid site did not record my initial (longer) post! Basically yes, but 20p more likely than 40p plus in this environment for Songe IMO. Have not tried to calculate lock, stock and barrel NAV for the whole entity.

Would Talaxis take 20p or so? Would have thought they would ideally seek more - unless perhaps the alternative was a significant fund raise, in which case perhaps they would. I have no idea in either direction. I would take 20p now if you offered it to me, but I presume I would be in the minority of shareholders with this position.

I may do myself next week. It is just about clinging on to the current range, but I share the unease of some here. Patience to a point I would agree with - but only to a point. Been on the wrong end of a patient strategy far too often with a number of AIM stocks, to hold come what may. Just because I missed the worst of the SP decline from the high 20's, does not mean I want to potentially wait until a return to the 5's, which is my concern, since you asked. And Songe is worth zero right now. Call me a de-ramper or any other names all you want, but my cynicism is justified until it is not. Fingers remain firmly crossed that my current suspicion here proves entirely unfounded.

Yeah, even two quid seems a long way off for now. Still feel calm about BARC as an institution, but equally feel somewhat vindicated with some of my previous posts that attracted a degree of mirth in some quarters. That bridge is still up for sale if anyone is interested? :)

Unsurprisingly, that does indeed appear to be the case, badjob. Cannot have all those rich people lose their money. No point keeping any threshold now. It might cause a civil war if they do not bail out both insured and uninsured depositors for any future regional bank that goes down after this move. Every bank is now a G-SIB it would appear. Nice message from JPM to FRC holders on the latter's website now. If I was a FRC customer, I would feel reassured by it. Genuinely, no sarcasm on this occasion! As to the macro consequences of this action...well, maybe there really is enough cash to ensure the deposits of every individual and business of every bank in the US now? OK, this comment might contain a little sarcasm now :)

Basically a big dose of moral hazard with an even bigger dose of Gresham's Law to follow. Short term it may well be good for the G-SIBS, but longer term, I am not so sure. Anyway, as I often seem to find myself saying, let's see what next week brings. GLA.

TheReducer: Yes, I agree. And I cannot really see any way out of that scenario either, without causing other significant issues. Like a bail in, for example. Another trouble is, if you only had eg 4 banks in the US, this would not actually be good for those banks left standing either. Meanwhile, there must be millions of highly-stressed customers of all the other regional banks who will be either seriously considering moving to a JPM, or already in the process of doing so. Thus compounding the problems further. Another busy weekend ahead for various central banks I suspect.

One of the reasons why I preferred BARC to the other UK banks was because I felt their valuation was at a safer margin compared to the others when taking into account this macro climate. Even allowing for the fairly slim dividend compared to Nat West and Lloyds. I do not worry about Nat West going bust, but I can totally understand why the market got jittery with the news on those outflows. So what if the UK government/taxpayer is a major shareholder? It is not like the UK taxpayer rarely takes a big haircut. Quite the opposite it seems, and never any serious consequences for those responsible when it happens. Although I am now in danger of reopening a can of worms conversation a few of us had some weeks ago covering the banking stuff around the time of the GFC, so will park it now :)

Absolutely no change of heart since that post. Sleeping fine generally thanks. Have insulated myself as best as I realistically can, in the event of being right about the macro stuff that I have more than once alluded to. Again, I have to say I would far rather be wrong and we have a soft landing etc, than be right. Easier money to make in the former scenario. Far less serious consequences for a great many people, who do not have such a buffer as those of us who comment on these chat boards probably do as well. Note the SCHW buys and sells I posted about right here. I am not afraid to trade while I wait for the sky to fall down :)

Hopefully! The stocks I tend to buy for my kids are ones that I spend the most time deliberating over, even though the size of purchases are only a small fraction of those that I make for my own p/f. Hurts more taking a loss with theirs too, on those occasions when I have got it wrong :)

Good update, as was expected. Now to see if we can move decisively above the 200 DMA. Then 170p I would imagine. GLA.

Well, I have bought a few for the kids. LTH if needed with that tranche. A bit of variety to their p/f and hopefully a dividend in the years ahead, assuming no buy out. As long as the BOD remain focused on cutting debt while growing the business where sensible, and careful management of general costs, then hopefully it will be a good buy at this level. But time will tell. GLA.

Some good bullish points to offset some of the bearish sentiment. Still holding, but not tempted to add at these prices either. If we see 8's, I will have a decision to make. Either will add or sell at that point. GLA.

As long as there is no company-specific reason for this significant sell off, of course. Hence an RNS to that effect would calm this ship. This is AIM, so IMO BOD's do need to speak up in situations like this, because too often it is the result of a leak for example. Not the fault of good outfits to be tarred with the same brush as the dodgy AIM ones, but it is what it is, so I for one would like to hear something very soon.

Actually, given the SP action recently, I do think the BOD need to say something soon. 'We know of no reason' RNS type thing. Or another chunky inside purchase would do the trick too I suspect.

I agree. Indeed the reason why commodities are by far the biggest percentage of my p/f is because I believe in the stagflation thesis. I just hope not hyperinflation - but you can only control what you can control etc, so no point worrying about such things really.

As long as the begging bowl does not come out again unless/until some significant new developments take place - and at a price considerably north of the last raise price too - then I share similar thoughts to you, flundra.
I hope SuperRoty is mistaken in his decision to sell up. While I do not base my own investment decisions on the comments made by anyone on a chat board, when a long term holder, with a good investment track record that he appears to have (based on a history of comments made here and elsewhere that I have seen), then I do take notice.

End of June would be OK. A small timeframe slippage that is not going to negatively influence my sentiment here. Still sitting on my hands until finance confirmed though, tempting though it is to take a few more! GLA.
