RE: Aviva acquires 6.22%18 Oct 2023 19:33
It is puzzling. At the time of print, I am attributing this drop to sector relevant sentiment. See our competitors, plus the house builders.
I have been expecting a material correction in the market (and wider economy) for a long time now, so I guess sooner or later I will be right :)
As far as this name goes, and as I have suggested in the past, as long as they manage costs carefully, especially the debt pile (the most recent update looked good on that front), then on the basis of having the luxury of sitting tight and perhaps adding more, should an even 'cheaper' price present itself, then we should, hopefully, see ourselves in profit once again, sooner or later.
The conundrum will be, as it always is, that if this is the early stages of a bigger correction, then there will be a lot of desirable names 'on sale', so it will be a case of choosing your allocations wisely. And more importantly, hoping the real movers and shakers see this one as worthy of a decent slug of capital, when that time comes.
Subject to the obvious caveats, I am a fairly relaxed holder here right now, but it helps that my current position is a small percentage of my overall p/f.
Glad I took profits here in the past though, when I had a far bigger number of shares!
ATB to you too and fellow shareholders.
