Yep. We do business differently in the West. Some might argue it is often to our detriment, but there we go.

Quite frankly, I am not convinced that the current crop of western politicians are that much more....shall we say selfless, or driven by a greater sense of national/patriotic/civic duty, than their counterparts in many of the third world countries. But this seems to be a time for weak men, who have naturally created these bad times.

Hopefully not too long until we get some strong men to fix it and create good times again. Wont be via the uni-party though, lol.

But sure, if we can, then no rush at all, as far as I am concerned. Certainly better that scenario, than agreeing to something that destroys current shareholders, as we have seen in other outfits.

I just do not want to see any further cash deployed to it prior to the MDA getting over the line. I am sure most LTH's feel similarly now.

So if it is a choice between sinking more cash into Songwe to keep alive the hope of the MDA at some point, or just selling it and moving on, I would choose the latter - if a no cost stalemate/brinkmanship option is not possible.

Malawi is what I feared it would be, from a commercial point of view. It is beyond reasonable doubt now.

BOD need to set a clear deadline (even if only informally) and then dump it in a sale to China...sorry, I mean, a company with a Chinese corporate registration, and then focus on the other avenues.

Naturally give first refusal to a western outfit, by all means, but get it concluded, one way or the other.

This is not a serious country for global business, from what I have now seen. Certainly not doing business the way the west deems non-negotiable these days anyway.

Yes, it sucks for LTH's and all the cash invested into this venture, but how much longer are shareholders going to be willing to throw more good money after bad in this? Not a penny more into Songwe, unless we get the MDA, IMO.

The management looks similar to many AIM ones right now. Weak.

They need to really tighten cost controls. The BOD has a legal responsibility, called fiduciary duty, to shareholders.

Not to politicians or to the general public, in terms of tolerating certain aspects of the global operation to be essentially loss-making.

If they are unable to make cost efficiencies, then fares need to rise, and/or an end to concessions/free travel for certain demographics etc.

If they are unable to, then we can no doubt save plenty of money with some significant cuts to senior management and especially, C-suite compensation. Tick tock! Good weekend all.

Those large buys could be shorts reducing or closing, IMO.

Avoid having to pay the dividend and presumably with that holder still selling down, you will not move the price much, if at all, buying back a cool million shares.

Plenty of better short prospects than this one, IMO, so do not understand the rationale, unless it is an arbitrage play, but as I have said before about MW - I prefer not to see them in one of my holdings, so while fairly relaxed here at the time of print, not complacent either.

I too would welcome an offer and think 170p - 195p would represent fair value for a buyer and seller. But I am somewhat biased, lol. GLA.

I agree with some of your opinions, but not that RR and PS are essentially rampers, like some of the types that you get on these chat boards.

RR has certainly given 'free' tips on several names from 2020 onwards that saw material SP growth, when names like CVX, XOM and CCJ were in the doldrums and not looking like good investment calls at all.

PS was calling to buy Newmont when it dropped below 30 USD. I heard his purchase declaration after I had already bought more myself around that time, but if others had simply copied him, they would be sitting pretty now. These guys do not just call to buy at the top, and shout sell calls at the lows. And nobody gets it right all the time either, in fairness.

IMO, right now, the likes of Newmont are going to offer me a cheaper return price, but I could be wrong.

I certainly did not exit that one, or PAAS, at the recent top, but the profit was satisfactory and the additional dry powder it gave me, was the right decision - for me.

As for FRES, also not feeling like this is the place to add right now. But like all these PM miners, things can and do change quickly, so never far from my radar. GLA.

Ex shareholder in this one. Was entirely off my radar until I saw the SP drop yesterday.

Cannot see the attraction for new investors based on this decision IMO, but will be interesting to see how it all goes once those new shares hit the market.

BoA is one that I have been keeping an eye on for a while now. I wondered if it was going to be the next financial institution 'shoe to drop', but I first pondered that many months ago, not long after all those bank failures and de facto bail outs, so presumed I was wrong.

I mean I was wrong, because the time frame would be too long to take 'credit' for the prediction now. More importantly, it is not something that I want to be right about anyway.

Putting that aside, they have very little left here, do they not? So that could bode well for the SP here - although I do see this as a confirmed break now.

Combined with the bearish market activity here and across the Pond yesterday, a close above the 200 would IMO be very bullish. Alternatively, I am going to lower my potential target entry point to 440-ish, if it closes below.

I will take my chances and buy more if this goes to the 40's. I do not think this Labour party is going to fulfil the dreams of the quasi communists in the unions, even if I am equally confident that they are going to be as useless as the current government has been for....well, since Maggie really, IMO.

And if they do turn out to be materially worse than the current bunch, well, we will have bigger things to worry about than our stock portfolios anyway.

This is a hold for me right now, although looks like a technical sell, from a chart perspective, IMO.

No, I am not short, or looking to buy in cheaper etc, in case anyone was planning on saying so.

I look at lots of different time frames. Particular focus on different ones, for different objectives, eg short term trade plans versus longer term considerations etc.

To be clear, my long term views remain unchanged - this is not a U-turn - but obviously if we are looking at a pull back, it will be good to start plotting potential price targets for certain names, including this one. Much as she is a cruel mistress :)

I do not have any miners in the 'trading pot' right now, and not looking to chase either, but certainly would like to change that situation too, when the time seems right to do so.

But no rush and like I said a while ago, got heaps of PM miners in the main p/f, so certainly not short of stocks in this space! GLA.

I appreciate that, but do not agree with the policy of simply sweeping up a bunch of comments that include ones (such as mine for example) that were not legally contentious.

That is what I have been saying needs to happen, and indeed bought in here for, on that basis at the very beginning.

But I have decided to bottom-draw the small position here, in case it does deliver some shareholder value at some point. IMO, still lots to like, objectively, for the non-MKA stuff, but equally, there are lots of avenues out there offering better potential returns right now, so it is a hold for me, rather than one to add to.

I do not think a topping tail is confirmed yet on gold, but if there are any better technicians here (probably not difficult!) then I would welcome views.

Looks like your gut feeling was right. Not sure if this is just a healthy pull back, or a top for now.

Still relatively relaxed with my own decision not to take some profits around the 83p level, although if we revisit 75p or lower, then I will be kicking myself a little bit :)
